Falmouth, Jamaica

Good morning,

Freedom of the Seas has recently changed her itinerary to Falmouth, Jamaica, from Ocho Rios, Jamaica.
Obviously, there is still a great deal of construction going on to accommodate all of the cruise ships that shop here.
The Pullmantur ship Hoizon is the old Celebrity Horizon.  Celebrity cruise line is owned by Royal Caribbean as is Pullmantur so this ship has moved from one part of the company to another.
Waiting at the gate are people who are waiting for a photo op with you.
It will be interesting to compare these images with how Falmouth will look over the next few weeks.
Tour buses are lined up waiting for guests.  The same tours that were available from the Port of Ocho Rios are also available here.
This has historically been a very rich port where sugar cane is exported.
 Ah, the blue Caribbean.  :)

Enjoy!

Lois

Where would these Caribbean islands be without the cruise business? Must be a big part of their economy.

The building looks pretty large until you realize the size of the huge ship!! It looks like a pretty place. Love the yellow building!! Pretty hills in the distance!! Maybe some day.....debbie

interesting. i wonder if ocho rios is becoming more kingston-ish and so they switched to a new port?

it's been years since we've been.

Lois, for me the color of the water is the most amazing, oh yes and the large ships too.

It's fun to see the new construction and what a boost Falmouth will have getting all the new cruise trade.
