Special Events and Special Foods - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

If you are having a special event such as a wedding, family reunion, or class reunion, a great place to have it is on a cruise ship.  Of course, arrangements have to be made well in advance so that the special foods can be available and prepared.
Today's images are of the foods for a special event aboard Freedom of the Seas.
What a spread of good things to eat!

Desserts are spectacular here!

Salmon.
Comfort food for children of all ages.
Steamed veggies.
 Filet mignon and potatoes.  *sigh*

Have I mentioned I love cheese?
And, of course, fresh breads of all types.  The best part of breads here is that they are prepared throughout every day and never have preservatives.

Enjoy!

Elegant Luncheon

Good morning,

When I eat something like this for lunch, I either have a salad for dinner or pass dinner all together.  That lovely filet mignon luncheon was served aboard Freedom of the Seas in a private luncheon for Pinnacle members of the Crown and Anchor Society, Royal Caribbean's top cruisers.
This cruise the group was fewer than 30 people.
These are our friends Arnie and Debbie.

Of course, our dear friends Martha and Russell are here dining with us.

We enjoyed having you on board and look forward to the next time we sail together.

All the best,
Lois

Sabor Restaurant - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

Royal Caribbean ships have a variety of specialty restaurants that we enjoy very much.
Today's images were taken at Sabor, the Mexican Specialty Restaurant aboard Freedom of the Seas.  I was enjoying lunch with Daughter Catherine, Aunt Carol...
...our friend Martha...
...and Martha's husband, Russell.
We ordered a little bit of everything and shared most of it family style.
I'll just show all the pictures.  I know this is calimari (above), but don't know the names of all of the dishes that were brought to the table.

Above is the red snapper I ordered.  It was fabulous!
And, then came the dessert.  Two of these trays were served family style for the five of us.  We managed to finish it all off!

Enjoy!

Liberty of the Seas in Cozumel, Mexico

Good morning,

The light wasn't terrific to get today's pictures, but I'm happy to have them.  That is Liberty of the Seas in the image above.  Liberty is a sister ship to Freedom of the Seas, the ship where I was taking these pictures through the window of our suite.
We were sailing into Cozumel, Mexico, when I spotted Liberty already tied up there.
Seeing Liberty is like looking in the mirror and seeing our ship.
Only the name on the side is different.

Beautiful!

Ice Cream and Berries Basket Dessert

Good morning,

This lovely dessert was served at our dining room table on a formal night aboard Freedom of the Seas.

That's rich ice cream and berries served in a deliciously crunchy bowl with chocolate on the bottom.  Yes, I ate it all.

Grand Cayman Shoreline

Good morning,

This was the view from our table at lunch in the Windjammer Restaurant aboard Freedom of the Seas last week.  That's Grand Cayman off in the distance.  What a lovely view.

One of the nicest parts of cruising is the changing scene right outside your window.

Enjoy,
Lois

Neighboring Vessels - Anchored off Grand Cayman

Good morning,

That lovely white yacht was near us off Grand Cayman a few days ago.

It's interesting to see the different types of vessels while we are out here at sea.  Also in the image you can see a commercial barge.  Quite a contrast!

Enjoy,
Lois

Royal Suite Artwork - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

Above is more artwork in the Royal Suite aboard Freedom of the Seas.  That lovely piece would look great in my home, decorated in blue.
These are images of...
...the dining area...
...in the Royal Suite.
Our friends were living in the Royal Suite once again and were good enough to let me snap a few more pictures to use here on my blog.  Thank you, Martha and Russell!
If you're having a group of friends over for a party, this suite is perfect for entertaining.

 Just beautiful!

Another Towel Critter - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

The stateroom attendants create and leave these darling critters for guests to find when they return to their staterooms.
This critter was found in our friend's suite last week.  It seems he has a love of chocolate!  ;)

So cute!

Calm After the Holidays

Good morning,

After all the excitement of the holidays aboard Freedom of the Seas, it was wonderful to enjoy some days of calm.

I took this image as I walked the deck on a beautiful sea day.

Enjoy,
Lois

Pinnacle Member Luncheon - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

While the Pinnacle Members were posing for a group picture before a special luncheon in their honor, our daughter, Catherine, snapped a few pictures with my camera.
The dining room aboard Freedom of the Seas is quite elegant.  And, the food is fabulous!

It pays to be a frequent cruiser with Royal Caribbean.

All the best,
Lois

Flash Back to New Years Eve - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

We had a great New Year on board Freedom of the Seas!
Everyone gathered on Deck Five for the festivities.
There was a giant screen above the Royal Promenade that would be watched as the countdown got close to 2016.
The Cruise Director and entertainers kept the crowd busy as the minutes ticked away.

Captain Ron is ready to go out on the bridge over the Promenade to announce the countdown.

Ben and Jerry's cows looked on....
Then we went out on the bridge over the promenade to cheer in the New Year.
We took pictures of the people on Deck 5 as they took pictures of us.
 We are getting close!
 Closer!
 Happy New Year 2016!
 Here come the balloons!

Enjoy,
Lois
