Flamingo and Fish

Good morning,

At the Brevard Zoo, children find interesting and challenging information at each display area.
I just love these fish!
We have a back yard pond at home that are quite pretty, but our fish don't have colorful designs such as these.
You'll find flamingo in the same display area.
Although they "fish" for tasty treats, they don't seem to bother the larger fish.
Posing for my camera?  No, I am sure I was just lucky.  :)

The fish don't look worried about the "fisher birds" nearby.
So pretty!  Do you know what the critter is closest to the camera?  If you do, please let us know in the comments.  The bird right behind him is a Scarlet Ibis.

Enjoy,
Lois

Hi, Lois. Your mystery bird is a Roseate Spoonbill. Florida is part of the prime range for this bird.
Back in the summer of 2002, four young Spoonbills spent several months in Ohio at the Rocky Fork Lake State Park in Highland County. This unusual event had birders from all over traveling in to take a look. This event made the Cincinnati papers several times.
I always enjoy watching Koi and Goldfish. When I was young, my parents had to physically drag me away from the fish.
