Here Come the Lilies!

 Good morning,

We have two flower pots of lilies on our front porch.  I planted these several years ago and am delighted that they return to provide beautiful flowers every single year.  I don't do anything except enjoy them.

Thank you, Mother Nature.

Cookie Jar Collection

 Good morning,

When we remodeled our kitchen years ago, we had shelving built near the high ceilings.  Pictured is only one part of the shelving holding part of my cookie jar collection and other treasures.

The swan vase was my mother's and I am delighted to have it and to display it. To the right of the swan vase is a hand made, hand painted casserole dish that was my mother's. I have pictures of my mother using it more than 100 yeas ago.   I don't use it because I don't want to damage it.  I'm concerned the beautiful design wouldn't withstand heavy use and it definitely shouldn't be put in the dishwasher.

That cookie jar with cookies on it was popular 50 years ago;  my mother had one and I liked it so much she bought one for me.  Thanks, Mom!  The Yellow and Black Labradors toward the left were gifts from my brother and his wife.  I'm not sure where the yellow hydrant cookie jar came from, but a good bet it is from a raffle at our dog club.

And, finally, those four canisters to the right are Pfaltzgraff that I picked up on sale fifty years ago.  There are delicate flower designs on them.  While teaching at the University of Cincinnati, I met a professor by that name at a faculty meeting.  Yes, he is part of the Pfaltzgraff family.  How fun!

I have more cookie jars in boxes in the basement.  I've run out of shelf space so am no longer "collecting" them.  ;)

What do you collect?

All the best,

Lois

Honeysuckle

 Good morning,

The wonderful aroma of Honeysuckle greets us as we open our door and walk out into our garden.

We are surrounded by it and love it!

Happy Spring!

Aroma of Freshly Cut Grass

 Good morning,

There is nothing to compare to the wonderful aroma of lush, freshly cut grass.

Our one-year-old Lily is enjoying so many new things.  Here she is tracking a "hoppy thing" through the grass.

So cute!

Ah, yes, enjoy this beautiful weather!

Erik Stepping Over the Wall

Good morning,

The back of our property is terraced since we are on a slight hill.

Mr. Erik, now 15 years old, is a little stiffer as the years pass.  We were delighted he still felt confident enough to step over the wall, since it is about a two foot drop.

We're lucky to have him still with us.

All the best,

Lois

More Neighborhood Spring

 Good morning,

We live in a neighborhood of old homes and old gardens.  Watching Spring here is just beautiful.

These trees are in a neighbor's garden, visible from our back yard.

Enjoy,

Lois

Sisters

 Good morning,

Wendy (left) and Elsa share the doggie deck chair to watch the birds in the trees.

It's cute to watch them watching while their little sister, Lily, chases the birds.  Lily will learn the birds will always "out fly" her!
