Elsa Got Mail!

 

Good morning,

This is the first of three titles that Elsa recently earned.  It takes awhile for them all to arrive in the mail from the American Kennel Club.

We are so very proud of Elsa and her trainer/our daughter, Catherine!

Hibiscus in Bloom

 

Good morning,

This beautiful hardy hibiscus bloomed along the fence by our driveway again this year.  These beautiful shrubs grow "wild" here.  They were certainly planted by the previous owner/s, but have spread to wherever they wish around the property throughout the years.  Of course, I encourage them!

Pool Party!

Good morning,

We recently got out of the house with friends for the first time since before Covid-19.  We enjoyed the Sons of Norway Pool Party at our friend's home.

It was like "old times" to be able to see everyone again.

We all managed to maintain reasonable distances, although everyone said he/she was vaccinated.

Everyone brought something for the buffet table.  Kjell made fried salmon, I made Cherry Cinnamon Bread with Cognac Icing.  The rest of the menu included our host's famous Bjorn Burgers, beans, fruit, and a large variety of other goodies.  We celebrated a birthday with Norwegian Marzipan Icing cake.  Yum!

Susie, our host, was very happy with the Norwegian/USA flag she found on line.

Very nice!

She had another of our favorite flags displayed on the fence to her pool.  

It was a very enjoyable day in the sun with good friends and good food!

Nail Soup

 Good morning,

Daddy is in the kitchen again.  This is a marvelous sausage soup that can be made with sausage and whatever veggies you have available.

There is a story about Nail Soup (sometimes called Stone Soup).  No, there are no nails or stones in the soup, but here's the story.

Elsa's Success Continues!

 Good morning,

They did it again!  Here's a snapshot of Elsa's recent weekend ribbons.  Her success continues as she is having the time of her life every time she goes to agility trials.  We are so very proud of Elsa and her trainer/our daughter, Catherine.

This is all great fun for Elsa.  When Catherine starts loading dog equipment into her car to go, Elsa gets so excited and dances around until she can get into the car and go.  

These ribbons indicate first place in each of four agility runs at the trial.  They are also qualifying scores toward titles.  She is well on her way to matching or exceeding her Great Aunt Penny's wonderful success!

 Good morning,

This beauty was drying its wings on the gate across my driveway recently.

 I'm sure one or more of my readers can identify it for me.

 So pretty!  I look at these beauties of nature for inspiration for colors and designs for my knit and crochet designs.

Anyone know exactly who this visitor is?
