Good morning,
Our pups are modeling their new collars so I can take pictures before they go to the dog club to play for the evening. Above is Wendy wearing her new Lady Bug collar.
Erik is the "Money Man" since his knee surgery since the beginning of last year. This collar is just right for him!
And, our sweet senior Penny is our sunshine so, of course, she has a "You Are My Sunshine" collar.
Sweet!
Lois

How It's Done - Stained Glass Flower Afghan Blanket
Good morning,
I've just finished another afghan blanket for the shop. This time, I took pictures while I was assembling it to document the process.
Above you see stacks of 20 different colors of "flowers" for this stained glass design. There is a total of 80 squares.
I arranged two sets of 40 colors to develop the arrangement before laying them out on a large table prior to putting the afghan together.
We're getting closer to putting it together now. The squares are ready to be "strung" together to keep them in order as I add the last round of color and connect them all together.
Here they're strung on a piece of yarn so I'm ready to go.
I have done all the work or organizing colors and now can just take each one from the top as I crochet the blanket together.
Putting them into a large bag with handles allows me to keep them together and move the whole stack easily.
Here it is! All the squares are together and a scalloped border has been added. It's now in the shop and available for sale. The listing is here with more images.
On to the next project!

Another Mystery Solved
Good morning,
We have two African Violets and one has been a mystery color for the past 18 months. We received it in a gift basket planter of mixed flowers and it was not in bloom so we had no clue what the color was.
This lovely flower is white with a tinge of lavender. Just gorgeous!

Sushi!
Good morning,
We enjoy our little Japanese restaurant very much. I suppose we go there about once a month to enjoy some of our favorite foods.
Catherine filled out the sushi order so we could have a large plate of food to share among the four of us: Kjell and me, Catherine and Bill.
Kjell had some fish soup.
Bill and I had ginger salad.
Then we all shared this plate of sushi.
Yum! What a wonderful evening of good food with family and friends.
All the best,
Lois

Kitchen Assistants
Good morning,
It's never a problem to find someone to keep us company in the kitchen.
Catherine came home from her office late one evening and made herself a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with plenty of help.

Here Comes the Sun
Good morning,
This is the winter sunrise above Xavier University.
I took this image through the screen and glass on my window. Soon the trees will have leaves that will block this view.
Yes, Spring is coming even though the ground hog says there will be another six weeks of winter.
Stay warm,
Lois

Needlework and Wood Working Update - February, 2018
Good morning,
I'm starting this month's Needlework and Wood Working Update with Kjell's new wood items. I hope you enjoy seeing what we've added to our finished items list this month.
These Cheese Slicing and Serving Boards are great conversation pieces that are fun to use.
Of course, we had to keep two for ourselves and we put the rest in the shop where some are still available.
Each one is different.
The boards are hardwoods and the hardware is chrome. Such fun to use, too!
Three more seam rippers are in the shop.
Here's a heavy duty bottle opener with a super comfortable turned wood handle.
Here's that gorgeous Marble Wood again. This one is still in the shop at this writing.
Of course, we had to keep one for ourselves. ;)
This gorgeous Blue Lovers Afghan Blanket was finished this month and sold within days of listing.
And, more recently finished is this Warm Browns Afghan Blanket. It is to restock a similar afghan blanket sold last month. Just beautiful blends of brown are especially good for a gift for the man in your life.
This was one of my waiting room knitting projects this month. Small projects are perfect for those hours of time that add up while waiting for routine appointments. This one was finished just in time for Valentine's Day. It's available in the shop as of this writing.
This "hat" is to dress up that extra roll of toilet tissue in your bathroom.
I've just restocked the shop with popular colors that have sold out recently.
We had also sold out of Luggage Identifiers so here are three more sets for the shop.
What pretty Spring colors! Time to take a trip!
These Find It Keep It Baskets are also back in stock.
The basket will keep your keys, phone, glasses or other items handy either hanging on a door knob...
...or sitting on a table.
And, finally, another cloche hat is back in stock.
Wow! What a month! While it has been so cold outside we've been busy stocking the shop and filling special orders.
Don't forget to get something special for those you love for Valentine's Day! We hope you'll come take a look at more than 300 items we have available in the shop. Gift Wrap option is available, we'll include your greeting, and we'll ship direct.
Thank you!
Lois

This pair of coarse salt and pepper corn grinders is made of marble wood. The color contrast of the grains is just incredible and Kjell has polished them to a beautiful shine. I listed these in the shop, linked them to Facebook, and they were sold within hours. This gorgeous Blue Lovers Afghan Blanket was finished this month and sold within days of listing.
