Happy Labor Day - USA

Good morning,

In the USA we are celebrating Labor Day which is also the unofficial end of summer.
Many Americans are celebrating with family gatherings, grill outs, and picnics.
These images were taken of My Honey, our Resident Grillmeister, at home in Cincy on the Fourth of July.  Trust me, if we were home right now, we would do the same today.  :)

We'll be home again soon.  I'm sure the weather will stay nice enough to celebrate with a barbeque when we get there.  :)

Happy Labor Day!

Salute to the Chefs - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

Toward the end of each cruise aboard Freedom of the Seas the chefs are introduced in the main dining room so the guests can thank them for a week of fabulous food.
This elegant dining room is three decks high.
Our daughter, Catherine, and Aunt Carol were with us this cruise...
...and other friends...

...and officers were seated with us. No, wait, we were seated with the officer.  ;)
Thank you, Freedom of the Seas Culinary Department, for another fabulous week of delicious food!

Enjoy,
Lois

By Night and By Day - Royal Promenade - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

Although there are no windows to the outside in the Royal Promenade aboard Freedom of the Seas, the illusion of day and night is provided by the lighting in the ceiling.

The image above was taken when it was daytime outside and it appeared to be daytime inside.
This image was taken later at night when the "sunlight" is gone and the street lights are glowing.

What a neat place!

Enjoy,
Lois

Senor Frogs - Right on the Dockside in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

Good morning,

You don't have to go far to find a bar with a pool.  I took this image from my deck 10 stateroom window aboard Freedom of the Seas.

I guess one of the advantages is there isn't a long drive "home" after a visit here.

As close as it is, I've never gone to Senor Frog's here in St. Thomas.
The view of the hotels at the opening to the port is spectacular.  What a lovely place to stay and watch the sea.

Enjoy,
Lois

Seagull Escort - Arrival to St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

Good morning,

We always get a seagull escort as we sail into St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. aboard Freedom of the Seas.
Sometimes the gulls fly so close to the window I hope they don't crash into them.  The guy in the image above seems to be pointing us toward the dock where we should tie up.
So, here we are for another beautiful day in St. Thomas.

Enjoy,

 Lois

Giovanni's Table - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

Here's another food post.  :)  This time we are with our friends Russell and Martha having dinner at Giovanni's Table, one of the specialty restaurants aboard Freedom of the Seas.
My Honey, Aunt Carol, and Catherine and I were all there this time.
It's always fun to be with Russell and his wife, Martha.
This is the fish offering....
Catherine enjoyed the surf and turf.  I had the turf without the surf.  ;)
My Honey selected the lamb chops.
 And, here's some ravioli.

The food aboard this ship is spectacular and I have the pounds to prove it.  :\

Enjoy!

Sabor - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

Our friends, Martha, Russell...
...daughter Catherine, Aunt Carol...
...and I tried out the new Mexican restaurant, Sabor, aboard Freedom of the Seas.
If you like Mexican food, this is the place to be.  The chef was fantastic about explaining foods and preparing special foods to accommodate diet requirements.  They are wonderful on board about finding something for everyone regardless of diet needs.
I managed to collect images of just about everything we ate, but can't name it all so will just let it roll by....  ;)

 Ooooh, these were good.
 Calamari.
The decor of the restaurant is quite pretty.  This antler chandelier is quite stunning...
...in this private area where we were seated.
This is the red snapper that I ordered.  Excellent!
 Short ribs.

And, I missed getting pictures of the dessert because we pounced on it without even thinking about a camera.  The dessert was a sampling of many different treats presented in the center of the table so we could fight over, er, uh, select those we wanted.

This was a great experience!

Yum!
