Happy Birthday, Lexi!

Good morning,

We had the pleasure of having six of our grand children with us last weekend while their parents had some Mommy-Daddy time to themselves.

These pictures were taken on day two of the three day weekend with us. 

Aunt Catherine and Aunt Carol took the six kids to a movie.  When they returned, we celebrated Lexi's birthday with cake, ice cream, and presents.

 Our beautiful Lexi is an artist...

 ...so the party theme and presents were art related.  :)

Pajama Party at Grandma's

Good morning,

We had a PJ party for six of our grand kids last weekend.  They spent the weekend with us so their parents could have some Mommy-Daddy time.  ;)

In the image above that's a queen size air mattress that the two youngest guys will share.  I've slept on this thing and it's extremely comfy.

Of course, the kids all brought their computers and play games with each other from one side of the room to the other.

Life is good.  :)

Signs of Spring

 

Good morning,

Here they come!  The blooms of Spring are going to be here before we know it.

The brown spots on the daffodils are from freezes after warm weather when the leaves pushed through the soil.  They'll be fine and will produce beautiful flowers in a few more weeks.

Crocus in the rain.  So sweet. :)

We will be here for the very first flowers this year, but will leave to go South next month before most of them have bloomed.  Next year our schedule will reverse so we will see a different part of the growing season then.

Anniversary Roses

Three days ago My Honey and I celebrated another anniversary.  In addition to a beautiful romantic dinner for two at a favorite restaurant, we reminded each other of how lucky we are to have found each other. 

If you're a regular reader here, you know I love roses and I take pictures of them so that they will last for a long, long time.  I thought you might enjoy these, too.

Back Home Again in Ohio

Good morning,

This is one last post from our road trip from Ohio to Northern Virginia.  Yesterday we crossed into Eastern Ohio and still have to make the journey to Cincinnati in the southwestern corner of the state.  We are passing through the rolling hills of Eastern Ohio where there are plenty of Christmas Card images waiting to jump into my camera.

As we moved West and lower out of the hills of Eastern Ohio, the snow began to disappear.

But, don't be fooled.  It's still pretty cold out there.

There is no question where we are now.  ;)

Crossing the Ohio River at Wheeling, West Virginia

Good morning,

About a week ago I published images of crossing the Ohio River here from the other direction.

 It's harder to get pictures of the river below going this way, but I can get much better pictures of the bridge itself.

 This is the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Bridge at Wheeling, WV. 

 We are now back in our home State of Ohio.  :)

We love our road trips, but it's always good to get home.

West Virginia Barn

Good morning,

This old barn certainly has some stories.

Did I forget to straighten this one?  No.  We are on an uphill grade on the highway.  Yes, the barn is leaning, the picture isn't ajar.  The trees behind the barn provide the anchor for proper alignment.
