Makers Mark Distillery - Part 1 of 4

Good morning,

We had a wonderful tour of Makers Mark Distillery near Bardstown, Kentucky, last Fall.  Our GPS showed Makers Mark, but the roads were highlighted in yellow as being "off the beaten path."  That was so true.
It is quite a drive through the back woods of Kentucky to get to Makers Mark.
At the Toll Gate entrance there is a restaurant where we had lunch at the end of our tour.

Needless to say, everything in this restaurant is made with bourbon.  :)
Inside the gate at the edge of the parking lot is the old firehouse.
The old homestead home is where you get your free tickets for the tour of the distillery.
The family home is beautiful.  It was surely quite elaborate for the times and the neighborhood.
This image is for my quilting friends.  This quilt is displayed on the wall.   :)
The home itself is part of the tour.
The lady on the left is our tour guide.

Tune in tomorrow for more images of our tour.

Enjoy,
Lois

OH! Lois, this is gonna' be fun I can tell already!! Love the old firehouse and from what I can see of the living room, the house must be quite cozy! Liked the toll sign too, that was cute. Can't wait for the last 3 parts! Cheers! ...debbie
