Needlework and Wood Update - October, 2016

Good Morning,

Happy October!  It's Fall already and time for another monthly Needlework and Wood Update.  We have plenty of new items this month to show you.  Be sure to read all the way down to see the beautiful wood items, too!

Above is this month's large afghan blanket addition to the shop.  It's a pink lover's delight!
Also new this month is a turquoise lap or baby blanket with splashes of of pink.
Three children's truck sweaters were completed this month.  The trailer of the red truck is a pocket.
All three have been delivered to those who ordered them.
This gorgeous Cables and Lace sweater was also a custom order and has been delivered just in time for cool Fall days.
This turquoise and pink hat is new and will be available in the shop by November 5.
This set of bright can and bottle cozies has been delivered.  I plan to make a set of these for myself.
Here's something so very neat!  My Honey has made this gorgeous Executive Desk Top Puzzle.  It's not as easy as it looks to move the rope through the maze.  ;)
Here's another stress reliever photographed while still being made in the workshop.  It may be a stress reliever for the person who rolls the ball back an forth in this thing, but it's a stress increaser to anyone else nearby!  I know these things!
My Honey made  business card holder for himself this month.  Nice!  He carries it with him most of the time.  It's fun to see him use it and watch people ask about it.
These two pens were custom orders.  I love the wood pens!  They are so warm to the hand and comfortable to use.  There is a whole section of them available for purchase in our shop.
More small hardwood boxes!
These are wonderful for engagement rings, lockets, small bracelets, or other treasures.

And, many more...
...business card boxes came off the production line this month.  :)

So, it has been a busy month again.  I hope you've enjoyed seeing the items that we've produced.   This monthly update has become a great record of what we've made for me, too.

It is said that if you do what you love you'll be successful in life.  We are doing what we enjoy doing and are enjoying life, that's for sure!

We hope you'll stop by our on-line Etsy Shop, EvensensProductions.com, just to look around and/or while shopping for gifts and for yourself.   Thanks!

And, now, we return to our regularly scheduled blogging.  ;)

Needlework and Wood Update - May, 2016

Good morning,

It has been a busy month of knitting, crocheting, and wood working once again.  This month's update includes sweaters, afghan blankets, wood boxes and more.

The pink Baskets Braids and Bobbles sweater is an original design custom order that has been delivered.
Leg warmers and ...
... bands were also included.
New to the shop is "Bumble Bee Baby" in size 12 months.  The set includes a sweater, hat, and bumble bee toy.
And, here is a "Lady Bug Baby" set also in size 12 months.
This purple tunic sweater was a custom order.
Also to restock the shop we added the afghan blanket in "sea spray" colors and...
in warm browns that remind me of a chocolate caramel sundae with cherry topping.
Quite a few wood items were also added to the shop including this note holder...
 ...two beautiful boxes...

...and two sets of salt and pepper shakers.

These two sweet turtles were a custom order.  The turtle on the left was made to match the colors of the customer's real turtle pet.
Back in the shop this month are warmers for your hands, arms, and wrists.  We've been told these are great for sleeping, too, for those who have arthritis.
Every month there are more hats!  Those above were a custom order...
...and this wool hat is to restock the shop.
And, hats always lead to more...
 ...hats!  ;)

These gray toilet tissue covers were a custom order that has been delivered...
...and, I restocked the shop with a few more.

I haven't made glasses cases for awhile.  This one is to restock the shop after I sold the last one listed there.
And, finally, it is never too early to work on Christmas items.  Etsy has a "Christmas in July" promotion so I have gotten to work on a few ornaments.  I once made about two dozen of these for a small table top tree we had while we were at sea.  It was fun to have hand made ornaments that were easy to pack even while we were away for the holidays.  These make great package decorations, too.

So, that's what we've been up to since last month's Needlework and Wood Update.  I hope you enjoy seeing what is new flowing from the needles, hooks, and out of the wood workshop.

All the very best,
Lois

Needlework and Wood Update - April, 2016

Good morning,

In last month's Needlework Update I mentioned there would be more Toddler Baby Bonnets.  The black and white version is not only perfect for a little girl with a polka dot dress, but for a flower girl in a black and white wedding.

Be sure to scroll all the way down to see hand crafted wood items in this month's update, too!
I took many of these pictures with light inside to illustrate the texture of the crochet.
This patriotic version will be fun to wear all year long.

And, finally, here they all are all lined up in a row without the light beneath them.
More turtles hatched this month, too.
I have a special fondness for turtles.  They make wonderful dorm room, computer, telephone, and travel pets that never need to be fed or walked.  Our daughter has carried one in the side of her backpack for years.
This was a month of several custom orders, too.  This is a shawl for a fashion doll that was a custom order.
Another lady purchased a door knob cell phone bag that was listed in the shop and requested a second one to match.

I made two more door knob baskets to restock the shop.
And, then there were special wine bottle hats made for another lady.  She ordered the two above and...
...two of these cowboy style wine bottle hats.  I had designed and made cowboy hats for dolls before so it was fun to design and make two of these to fit the top of a wine bottle.  I plan on making a few more for the shop.  As my granddaughter, Anna, says, "Those are adorable!"
Also to restock the shop are the lap blanket above and...
 ...baby blanket with turtle toy.
Since we are at home once again, we have quite a few gorgeous wood items that My Honey has made.
Some of these boxes are still available in the shop.
Brand new this month are these business card holders.
The first two are hand crafted of two shades of cherry wood...
 ...and the last three...
are hand crafted of curly maple and walnut woods.
I absolutely love this wood that looks like satin.
As always, I made a series of cloche/chemo caps to restock the shop.

This is a new black yarn with red, yellow, and blue highlights that has proven to be quite popular.

So, that's it for the month!  Yes, we have been busy, just the way we love life to be.

Our little shop of hand crafted original and traditional knit, crochet, and wood designs, EvensensProductions.com turned five years old on March 2, and we are delighted with our progress.  Thank you so very much to all of you who encourage us by being customers, liking us on Facebook (which puts us higher in searches), and commenting on this blog and on our EvensensProductions Facebook page.

 All the very best,
Lois
