What a beautiful rose! The velvet texture is spectacular.
The rose was in a bouquet from My Honey for Sweetest Day.
Thank you, Darlin',
Lois
(And, thanks to My Honey's secret shopper, Catherine, too!)

Kjell ordered a new egg poacher and it arrived today, so, of course, we had to have poached eggs for dinner. :)
This one is much fancier than my mother's that we didn't use very often any more. After the water boiled, it only took five minutes......to have very tasty (and happy) poached eggs. Thanks, Sweetie. This was fun and very good, too!
Love you,
Lois
Kjell made the BEST roast chicken yesterday!
This was absolutely awesome! It's so great to have an excellent chef in the house!
Thank you, Sweetie,
Lois
The birds in our yard are very happy with the honeysuckle berries right now.
Ah, Fall....
All the best,
Lois
That's Elsa under the old oak tree stump. You can see why she sometimes comes into the house dirty! She's not stuck, the pups just like to dig and play under there.
The stump has become too unstable as you can see from the narrow piece of rotting wood holding it up. It's wobbly and as soon as she came out this time, Daddy filled the hole so the pups can't get under there any more. I'm really glad.
So, the Winnie the Pooh Tree Stump is no longer open for doggie play business.
Life marches on....
All the best,
Lois
I'm lucky to have a resident chef. That's Kjell preparing pork to go on the grill.
Yum!
All the best,
Lois
The house smells wonderful today! :)
It's a wonderful day to make a sandwich with fresh bread and knit.

We have seen some outstanding meals prepared on cruise ships lately, but this is one made right here at home.
Catherine prepared a wonderful filet mignon dinner and Kjell made the steak sauce.
The steaks were grilled to rare perfection. The spinach salad made the whole thing healthy! This is Kjell's version of hollandaise sauce. It was soooo good! Bacon for the potatoes, of course. And, perfectly baked potatoes. We didn't need any dessert. If we had had dessert, we wouldn't have been able to eat it!
Thank you, family! This was great!
Love you all!
Lois
This was a meal in itself.
Catherine made loaded baked potatoes. This is just HALF of a potato and was nearly more than I could eat.
Yum!
What a great Fall meal.
All the best,
Lois
Instead of making this soup in a soup pot, Kjell makes this in a casserole dish. The cod bakes perfectly and all the flavors blend.
It's a thick soup and oooooooh, so good!Enjoy!

The moon was so beautiful when we took the pups out for last call recently.
We had somehow missed it in the news, but later that night we had an eclipse of the moon. Catherine was still at her office and texted asking if Dad was outside gett6ing pictures, but we were already in bed. There were many images of the eclipse on line the next morning.
So pretty!
All the best,
Lois
That title will surely bring in some lookers. ;)
Our girls love to soak up Vitamin D on sunny days. Above is Elsa.
And, this is Wendy. They are certainly well fed.The pups have a hard life around here, don't they....
They are precious!

Kjell makes yummy meals. This is a healthy brunch he made: two poached eggs, toast, cheese, and a banana. The chives were grown locally - just a few feet from our back door. :)
Thanks, Sweetie, it was delicious!
Love you,
Lois
We made another trip out to Jungle Jim's International Market for Kjell to pick up some flavors from his home country, Norway.
It is amazing to just walk through this huge store to see all of the food items from around the world. When we got home, Kjell made Norwegian Beef/Pork Meat Cakes (we'd call them meat balls here in the USA) with traditional Norwegian spices. It's the Nutmeg that makes the difference. There are many recipes for Norwegian Meat Cakes on line.In Norway, the peas are mashed, the potatoes are boiled and served with sour cream.
It is a delicious meal! Kjell always makes enough meat cakes to freeze some for quick meals in the future.
Enjoy!

Today's blossoms are just beautiful! These are from seeds I sprinkled in a pot a few weeks ago.
These are early morning images taken on my patio. It is just so lovely to be greeted by these beauties of Mother Nature.Enjoy!

Last night the "kids" borrowed Dad's keys to make a Midnight snack run.
They selected steak and whipped cream for themselves and picked up some Pop Tarts for us. We don't eat Pop Tarts, but it's the thought that counts.

Catherine sent me this image from Firebirds Wood Fired Grill, a restaurant in Greater Cincinnati. I looked it up and there are two of them nearby.
This looks delicious! Kjell and I will have to try it! Well, I guess we'll wait until after my implant is complete. I'm in the middle of an eight month process of getting a dental implant since Lily knocked out my front tooth. Lily's side of the story is here.
Yes, I still love her.

Lois
Are you singing that title yet? I'll be singing it all day. ;)
We've been doing a great job of having healthy snacks (most of the time) as we watch TV in the evening.
OK, there are some evenings we have ice cream, but, hey, we are trying!

Two days ago, just after 5 PM, we received this message on our phones.
The message was the real thing! We were right in the middle of this freak storm. Fortunately, we were home and safe. The storm continued for about three hours. The severity of this storm was totally out of the ordinary here.
And, this is Lily during the storm while there was deafening, prolonged thunder right over our home. She and her two sisters weren't bothered at all by it. However, if I had opened a bag of chips, she would have suddenly been sitting right in front of me, staring at me until I shared some with her.According to the news, sadly, there was one death and there were several injuries due to the storm.
As of last night, it's still raining here....
I hope it's dry and comfy wherever you are.
All the best,
Lois
