Returning to Ohio

Good morning,

I took these shots as we returned to Ohio from our road trip through Kentucky.
Seeing Cincinnati in the valley below always brings good feelings of home.
We are crossing the I75 Brent Spence Bridge...
...across the Mighty Ohio River.
We'll be home again soon.

Our next scheduled road trip will be in October to go South to Port Canaveral in a few weeks.

 All the best,
 Lois

Kentucky Barns

Good morning,

Today's images of well used barns were taken in Kentucky last Fall.
What beautiful country side in the Blue Grass State.

So pretty!

Enjoy,

Rolling Hills of Kentucky and Passing the Kentucky Horse Park

Good morning,

What beautiful weather in the rolling hills of the Blue Grass State.
I took these shots as we were passing the Kentucky Horse Park near Lexington, Kentucky.
Beautiful white fences...
...line these fields where beautiful horses graze.
On this particular trip we didn't see horses outside.

It has been several years since we visited the park.  We'll have to get back here again soon.

All the best,
Lois

North Carolina Mountains in the Fall

Good morning,

I'm going through some images from last Fall and found these that I haven't yet shared with you.
We love road trips especially through the mountains.
We'll be heading back to Florida in a few weeks and will drive through these mountains to get there.

We are looking forward to all of the Fall colors and the cool, crisp air.
Beautiful!

Enjoy,
Lois

My Patio Chair

Good morning,

Hi!  I'm Wendy.
I'm twelve weeks old now and surely old enough to write my own blog post.
You'll notice how comfy I am in this patio chair.
My Mom came out and wiped the rain off of it after the rain.  I'm sure she did it for me so I got up here.
I fit just fine and can take a nap here.
I have to be careful when I stretch, though.
What do you mean you wiped this chair off for yourself?
It's mine now.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....................
Is that someone coming in the gate?
Nah, nothing important.  Back to sleep.....

Mom loves to take my picture.  She tells me it is important to get lots of them.  She misses lots of sleep by taking so many pictures.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz,
Wendy

Alex and Wendy

Good morning,

Our grandson, Alex, age 9, stopped over for a visit one afternoon.  Wendy was so happy to see him!
There is something wonderful about a child and a dog, isn't there....
How sweet!
After a few minutes of play Wendy settled down next to Alex where they could stay in contact.  So sweet.
And, here is a flash back to five summers ago when we brought Erik home for the first time.  Alex, age 4, was with us most of that summer and just loved having this new puppy to love.  I've published this image earlier with the title:

Happiness is a Warm Puppy Dog

Needlework Update - August 2014

Good morning,

The summer has flown as has the past month since my last Needlework Update.  Above is a custom order red sweater that is so bright and happy as is the lady who will be wearing it.
This gray sweater is my same original knit design with a turtleneck.  It is hand knit of a gorgeous wool blend yarn and is available in the shop.
It is always fun to have some smaller projects between the large ones. Above is a candy basket that can be used for fancy soaps or anything else.
I also made several more chemo caps to...
 ...restock the shop.

What are you making and doing this summer?  I just love seeing all of the beautiful items everyone is making, baking, growing!

All the very best,
Lois

The Grillmeister

Good morning,

My Honey was in charge of the grill for some wonderful steaks.
After marinating them in oil and spices, it was time to enjoy the wonderful aromas as they were grilled...
...and we all anticipated the meal to come.
Erik spent some time on Catherine's lap where he had a good view of the grill...
...then Wendy scrambled up for some cuddle time.

Ah, yes, summer.  The only thing I would love to be without is the mosquitoes!

Enjoy,
Lois

Anna's Back to School Wheels

Good morning,

We picked our granddaughter, Anna, up at the end of her shift at Kroger with the new car we just bought for her to use while going to work and school.

Anna is is living with us while she attends Xavier University where she has received a Presidential Scholarship to study Bio Physics.  Since XU is literally across the street from us, it makes sense that she live here AND we are delighted to have this wonderful young lady in our household.
It is not easy to hide a bright red car in your back yard.  We picked it up during the day while Anna was at work and had a wonderful time with the covert operation to surprise her with it at the end of her work day.

It is pure joy to see how happy she is!

More Dog Days of Summer

Good morning,

Wendy won't fit on the base of the raised patio garden for very long, but for now it is a favorite spot.
A week ago, she fit completely on the black base of the planter, but now she hangs over the sides.
I moved the garden thermometer down next to her and she was mildly interested.
The dog days of summer are quite mild here this year.  :)

Enjoy,
Lois
