Short Visit to Viera Wetlands

Good morning,

My regular readers know that one of our favorite places to visit in Florida is Viera Wetlands, near Melbourne.
Since the weather is so hot right now, it wasn't a good time to walk the wetlands in search of pictures.  The road had been blocked so we weren't able to drive.
This sign is posted at the entrance of the wetlands.  We have walked the wetlands several times before, but do prefer to move through by car.  When we were there this time we saw other walkers and saw a jogger just coming out who said the heat was too much to jog that day.
So, we stood on the road for a few minutes and enjoyed the scenery, but we didn't walk very far.
A few of our wetlands friends were watching us while we were watching them.
The water lilies provided a beautiful design, but the heat was just too much to stay any longer.

We'll be back in the cooler months.

All the best,
Lois

Interesting that signs must be posted to warn people of the obvious things NOT to do when alligators are close by. I would not have wanted to stay long, but that's just a personal thing.
