Summer days at home are so pleasant, aren't they? We can enjoy the flowers blooming...
...and the marvelous aroma of the garlic and spices as daughter, Catherine, marinates two lamb legs before grilling them.
She has made one spinach salad with onions...
...and one without to suit the tastes of everyone dropping over for dinner.
Erik and Penny have been swimming in a lake today so need baths before they can go back into the house.
And, after a great dinner we retire to our sitting room...
...surrounded by hand made items that make home, home. When folded, this knit lap-ghan decorates the back of a chair awaiting a chilly evening.
A crocheted wall hanging waits to be hung...
...and Penny has arranged her afghan to her liking just before falling asleep.
Good night, Penny. :)

What a nice post! Love the one of Penny on her afghan! Typical Lab! I can arrange Molly's blankets fresh from the laundry and she will rearrange them into a messy pile.
Sounds like the makings for a fun and relaxing day. I used to have a collie that would spend ten minutes arranging his blanket before laying down.
The food looks great. I think I should eat before reading your posts, so I don't feel so hungry after.
What a nice day. Home is good, isn't it?
This looks sooooo good - your daughter is amazing - and I'm so hungry now
Have to go and cook something...
:)
Yes indeed, home is where the heart is! Looks like you are surrounded by lots of love and comfort. And the sweet photo of Penny, my Buddy loves his "blankie" that is fleece. He arranges and arranges before he can settle down. Have a wonderful week!
Mom! Some lady's playing with my food again!
Lovely post. The food looks great - the afghans are beautiful.
I really enjoy spending a relaxing summer day at home. Looks like yours was wonderful. Penny really know how to make good use of an afghan.
Good morning,
Yes, there is no place like home. Since we travel half of the year, I appreciate being home even more when we are there.
Thank you, everyone, for stopping by. I so enjoy all your blogs and appreciate your visits here.
Very best,
Lois
