Walking With Erik

Which is it?
Do we walk Erik or does he walk us?  If you ask him, it's the latter. :)
My honey and I went for a walk with Erik and our responsibilities were well defined.  My honey held the end of the leash;  I held the camera.  I was also the "bag lady," but I didn't take a picture of that.  ;)
Erik's nose was in the air enjoying the Spring aromas...
...as he and "Dad" walked ahead and I stopped to do the bag lady duties.
We live in a lovely old neighborhood.  Old vines of ivy seem to hold this tree up.
Other trees are in full flower.
This iris grows in the center of a traffic circle on the other side of our block.
When we moved into this neighborhood 31 years ago, I told the two youngest of three kids (6, 8, 16 at the time) to come in the house when the street lights came on.  They quickly figured out the gas lights are always on.  ;)
Our other Labrador Retriever, Penny, wasn't home to walk with us today.
Penny and our daughter, Catherine, were at a two day Agility Competition.  Pictured above are the ribbons they won yesterday.
And, these are the ribbons they won today!

Soon Erik will be old enough to compete, too.

I love watching agility compititions! They are so much fun to watch. Looks as if Penny is pretty darn good in her class! Congrats!! I like your gas light too. It's pretty, and I'm sure it lends itself to a cozy, tree lined, neighborhood. Have a good week! The rain is not heavy here and supposed to be gone by noon. Maybe some spotty showers...debbie

Good for Penny and Catherine! Your photos were lovely Lois even with having to be the bag lady!
Love Di ♥

What a fun day you all had! I'm impressed with your ability to do bag duty (I can't do that!} and really impressed with Penny's competitiveness... she rocks!

What a lovely walk through your neighborhood. I especially enjoyed your shot of the iris. Here we are just beginning to see a bit of green shoots come up so it will be several weeks before mine are blooming. I have been thrilled just to see green, but I can't wait to see blooms.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for stopping by.

Not to worry, I check the plastic bags to be sure there are no holes in them before doing my bag lady duties. :)

Yes, Penny is doing very well. She and Catherine have found their niche. I'm so very proud of both of them. Debbie, Catherine has had our dogs in Obedience and Conformation, too, but Penny just took off in Agility so that is where they are concentrating their efforts. We'll give Erik a try in Conformation if we can get him to stand still long enough. ;) He's a very good puppy.

Very best,
Lois
