Dolphins Near Coco Cay, Bahamas

Good morning,

Coco Cay, Bahamas, is a Private Island destination of Royal Caribbean cruise ships.  The image above shows two of the tender boats that transport guests between the cruise ships and the island.
I took these two images above of the tenders one morning from outside on deck 7 of Majesty of the Seas.  It was such a gorgeous day that I felt I couldn't get all the blue out there into my camera.  A couple of hours later I met a friend in the Schooner Bar on deck five.
We sat there watching the tender operation through the double panes of glass in the Schooner when we suddenly saw a pod of dolphins.
I grabbed my camera and started shooting.  I was very happy to get a couple of shots of the dolphins out of the water.  The people on the tenders got a fabulous view of these beautiful animals.

Sometimes it is the unplanned, surprise pictures that are the most fun!

Best,
Lois

It's been fun reading your posts on this trip because this is what my husband and I did for our honeymoon - same trip, same boat. Coco Cay was my favorite part of the trip - it was just quiet and relaxing and I went snorkeling, which was so beautiful! I remember that Charlie and the Chocolate Factory had just been released and it was the only channel that we could get, so I saw that movie over and over so much that I dreamed about it. And I liked the buffet place better than the fancy dinner, but that's just me. We took a walk in Nassau and got lost, but we did get to go into some fab jewelry stores. Nice to see your trip.

Sounds like you are having so much fun Lois! And let me assure you, it is grey and dreary here in the Nati. You are missing NOTHING! Enjoy that sunshine and beautiful clear water!
Blessings,
Debbie

What a great surprise! They certainly are fun to watch. I like it when they come out of the water REAL high and do flips. Water sure is pretty and blue. Guess the fun is about to begin!! ...debbie

Cococay is really amazing island. Little island but you can enjoy the full day. I really enjoyed my stay in Bahamas during the last cruise. I'd recommend www.cococay.info

How grand is that....... I love to capture something unexpected with the camera. You were blessed that day. Thank you for the visit to my blog and your sweet comment. I can always count on you to lift my spirits. I am making a little progress every day. I have no regrets concerning the knee replacement. It has allowed me to return to life that arthritis stole from me.

It is the surprise pictures that are the best, both during the event and then looking back at the pictures. I'll bet you were wishing you could have been transported over to the tender for a closer view!

Good morning,

The dolphins were quite a treat that day. Anon, thanks for the link. :) It was fun seeing you on board. That web site (see comment from Anon) linked to my blog here a few months ago to my image of granddaughter Anna holding a hermit crab on Coco Cay. :)

Yes, Erin, the Windjammer casual dining is a nice alternative to formal dining on evenings when you want a more relaxed meal. It's great for breakfast, lunch, and tea time, too. :))

I'm delighted you are back and feeling well, Jo, and yes, Debbie, our daughter has told us about the terrible weather in Cincinnati. I hope it improves soon. She was supposed to join us Monday, but has to stay home to testify on someone's behalf next week. We will all cruise together later this summer.

Judith, I hope your computer is back in shape soon. For those who haven't met her here yet, Judith is in Greece and has some incredibly beautiful images on her blog.

I enjoy reading all of your blogs. Sometimes I am connected via satellite and have to wait for a more stable connection to allow time for your pages to load or they time out, but I get there eventually every couple of days.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Very best,
Lois
