Foodie Shopping at Jungle Jim's International Market

 Norwegian Treats!
Hi,

We make the trek to Jungle Jim's International Market about once a month to pick up Norwegian and other treats that are not available at our local Kroger, Meijer, Biggs or other grocery stores.

I remember when Jungle Jim's wasn't more than a roadside fruit stand north of Cincinnati;  now it is a destination in itself as you'll see if you've been there or take a look at that link above.  Jim doesn't allow images inside the store.

That's our Edge in the image.  I got out of the car to shoo a group of Mallards away so that my honey could park our car in Jim's huge parking lot.  It became comical as the ducks tried to convince us that we were in their spot and they weren't going to move.
Instead of moving, this guy just sat down on the white line.  Eventually, I convinced him to move out of the way.  Plenty of other shoppers were also trying to get the ducks to move.  On our way into the store we told an employee about the parking lot squatters;  we were told they are there all the time and it has been impossible to get them to move.

Chocolate!

We picked up $184.00 worth of Norwegian treats.  Needless to say, not all of our purchases are pictured here.

When we came out of the store, the ducks had found a parking spot of their own.

And promptly went to sleep.
Here's a treat of fish balls in lobster sauce (purchased at Jungle Jim's) my honey made for himself on my homemade bread.  This is a quick dinner that was eaten in front of his computer.  I had to be fast to get the picture.  :)

So, that's a quick review of our trip to Jungle Jim's.  If you're anywhere near Cincinnati and enjoy food adventures, Jungle Jim's is a neat place to visit.

Very best,
Lois

Wow! I'll bet Jungle Jim's is a really neat place to walk through. It sounds like one of those places where you just never know what you'll find! Loved the ducks and their "attitude"!!! We have a "Public Market" here in the growing season. On Saturday morning it is packed with people. You buy fresh produce, cheese, and meat directly from the farmer.

Good evening,

Thanks for your kind words. My honey, my daughter, and I have been out all day taking a course that was 14.5 hours long. I was trying to check in to see the blog and my email via Blackberry, but we were in the boonies where the signal was terrible. I could only see snippets before I would get the dreaded message that the signal wouldn't allow data downloads.... Oh, well....

It's good to be home and be able to read your comments. Thank you so very much. :)

I've just had fun visiting your blogs to see what you have written today.

Very best,
Lois
