St. Thomas, U.S.V.I.

Good morning,

Here we area at Havensight Mall in St. Thomas, U.S.V.I. once again.  We usually go ashore here, even for a short time.
Of course, I have to take pictures of the beautiful blossoms. ;)
After a little shopping, we had a quick lunch and returned to the ship.
Later in the afternoon when it was time to sail, I took a stroll on an outside deck.
I never cease to be amazed at the people who casually stroll down the dock fifteen minutes after the time posted to be on board.  All aboard is generally 30 minutes before sailing.
Here you see cruise staff and security counting the last few people to return.  Fifteen minutes later and the gangway would be gone and they would be waving goodbye to the ship.  Hopefully, those who miss the ship will have a credit card to purchase their air fare to the next port.
As those last people boarded, I took some pictures of the sun on the mountainside.  On the left you can see the tram going up the mountain.
This is a zoomed image of the restaurant/entertainment center at the top of the mountain.
Closer to the ship is Senor Frog's.  This is a new addition to the St. Thomas dockside; we certainly know they are there by all the noise they make when there are passengers ashore.  This picture was taken after things calmed down.

You can find plenty to do in St. Thomas.  :))

Lois

I suppose those stragglers think they are important enough that the ship will wait on them! Nice pictures.

How beautiful flowers! I agree with you about those people who return to the ship so late. And to see how relaxed they are, not stressed at all!

I remember last summer you posted a couple who had a close call and I believe they were running to board ship.

Good morning,

It is much too common that people are running late getting back to the ship. The all aboard time is 30 minutes before sailing. It is the all aboard time that the gangway is supposed to be removed, but there are always those who push their luck. When sailing time arrives, though, their luck will run out.

You're right, Wanda, I had images of that couple running in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, several month ago. At least they were aware they were close to missing the ship. ;)

Thank you, everyone, for stopping by and for your kind comments.

Very best,
Lois
