Images Around the Ship

Good morning,

I'm out roaming around Freedom of the Seas with my camera again.
I am always finding something different to photograph.
So, have you seen a twin exhaust this big before?  ;)
This image was taken from the bridge while sailing out of Port Canaveral.
Later in the cruise, we enjoyed "Captain's Corner" with the entire Executive Team.  This is one of the highlights of the cruise for those who want to learn more about the ship and the ship operations.

More images from the high seas to come....

Best,
Lois

Good morning, Lois!

Sailing out of Port Canaveral made me wonder if you would be able to see the final launch of the Space Shuttle this July (8th is the planned date) from aboard Freedom of the Seas. I've been a space fan all my life; this would be the coolest :-)

Have a lovely day of sailing the seas!

Good morning,

I'm a space fan, too, Beth. Unless the space launch is on a Sunday, it won't be seen from Freedom of the Seas. Sunday is the only day we are in Port Canaveral. It has happened, though, that the ship was in port when a shuttle was launched. I didn't happen to see it, but everyone here is still talking about it.

We will be heading North again in July. It will be good to see the family and our dogs, too! Our home is being painted inside while we are gone so there will be plenty of "putting things back together" when we get home. I look forward to baking bread and getting my Etsy store stocked again, too.

Thank you, everyone, for stopping by and for your very kind comments.

Best,
Lois

Hi Lois,

Maybe you'll be lucky this time, if the launch is delayed a couple days :-)

Take care,

Beth

Hi Lois, I sure did recognize at least one of the crew in that session. Just curious, what position does the woman shown have onboard and are they many female officers ?

Hi Beatrice and everyone,

The lady in the picture is the Human Resources officer. She's a very cool lady. There are a few women officers, but at the top there are still mostly men. There is one lady captain in the fleet. Nice lady.

Thanks for stopping by.

Best,
Lois
