If Heirlooms Could Talk

Good morning,

If heirlooms could talk, I would love to listen to the pot holder in the image above.  I inherited this from my Mom with many other beautiful things.  I'm not quite sure who made it, but believe it was either my grandmother or my aunt.  My mother didn't crochet or knit.  She did tat and sew beautifully.

In a few days I'll be seeing several of my cousins who may have some information about the history of this beautiful piece of crochet.
Right now, I'm working on a crochet project, too.  This is the beginning of a baby blanket that is so very bright and pretty.

Perhaps it will be an heirloom someday far into the future.

All the best,
Lois

That's a beautiful potholder. My Great Grandmother, and my two Grandmothers, did a lot of handiwork like that. I'm in possession of a lot of it.

Really pretty and in such good shape to be that old.

It is a beautiful potholder. Maybe it was so beautiful that it was only hanging as a decoration? Then I believe it could tell a lot of stories from the kitchen :)

Lois, the heirloom potholder seems much too pretty for its intended use, but makes for nice artwork.
