Captain's Cocktail Party - Freedom of the Seas

Good morning,

At the beginning of every Royal Caribbean cruise a Welcome Aboard Party is held by the Captain.
Aboard Freedom of the Seas the party is held on the Royal Promenade.  The champagne is courtesy of the Captain.
The party is formal and most people dress up in grand style.
Then, the music stops and the Cruise Director announces the Captain will appear on the "flying" bridge that descends from the ceiling of the Royal Promenade.
 The Captain welcomes everyone...
 ...then introduces his senior officers.

Following the introductions, there is a fabulous dinner served in the formal dining rooms.

For those who don't want to dress up or eat dinner in the dining room, there are many other restaurants on board, but the vast majority of guests enjoy all of the pomp and circumstance.

Ah, yes, cruising is such fun!

Enjoy,
Lois

We have never been on a cruise, Lois, and it looks like great fun though I would opt for gthe more casual dining and attire. Also, I was wondering if you need to carry a lot of clothes on board each time or are they kept in your stateroom?

I've never been on a cruise either, (except on warships). But I probably wouldn't go ashore if I took one. I see the way they rush the tourists around here.
