Crossing the Ohio River at Wheeling, WV

Good morning,

Our road trip continues.  :)
Here we are descending into the Ohio River Valley at Wheeling, West Virginia.

The bridge ahead will take us across the Ohio River from Ohio to West Virginia.
What a beautiful bright, sunny day.
If you look carefully, you can see barges full of West Virginia coal that will move down river and possibly go as far as past Cincinnati where we live.
Here is a better shot of the barges.  Amazingly, I took these pictures while My Honey was driving about 55 mph.  :)

This is such a fun road trip!  I hope you are enjoying it, too.

All the best,
Lois

Great shots at that speed :)
If there is a barge anywhere around we will stop, my hubby just loves them.

Our road trips are nightmares of traffic...

To me it looks might cold outside. But what a fascinating area. I don't think I've ever seen coal being transported by any means other than a train car.

I for one am sure enjoying this trip. It brings back happy memories of when I worked in Ohio.
