Needlework Update

Good morning,

I've been busy since we've been traveling.  I always have a knit or crochet project (or two or three) going wherever I am.
I made this little card holder for my friend, Martha.  It is just the right size to hold a Seapass Card, credit card, or...
...business cards.  I like this so much I will make some of these for the shop, too.  :)
I finished the hat and scarf I had started for My Honey before I got here.  When we drive North through the mountains in November, it should come in handy.
This neck warmer can be worn this way with the black showing in the front or...
...this way with the shades of grey in the front. It, too, will go into the shop when I get home next month.
Since I took this picture of the back, I have finished this knit sweater.  It was a longer project than most and the yarn is just gorgeous.  The feel of this soft sweater will be wonderful when the weather is cool.  I just loved working with the softness, but it was a slower process because the nubby yarn requires me to watch it while I work.  I can work with most smooth yarns without watching each and every stitch.  The sweater is beautiful so it was worth the extra time required.
A few more luggage ID markers are always useful when we are out traveling.
Daughter Catherine and Aunt Carol will visit later this month so they will be the recipients of luggage markers.  :)
Last, but not least, I have to have a doll to keep my company.  ;)

So, that's the needlework update from the past month.  I've also started another baby blanket that will surely be in the next needlework update.

What are you making for Fall and Christmas gifts?  I am always trying to stay a season ahead, but suddenly time flies and that season is already here.

All the best,
Lois

I love the little card holder. I sewed a little pouch that I keep in my purse with all of my store punch cards and discount cards.

Hello Lois
Like the look of that neck warmer - it it very thick (what ply is it in?) How ingenious are you to make it reversible or is that just the way ot turned out lol And somehow I didn't think you'd be far away from a doll - do you have Ginger with you this trip?
BTW thank you for dropping in to Still Waters and for all your lovely comments.
Take care
Cathy

Hi Everyone,

I like that little card holder, too. I plan to make some more of them for the shop and keep one to use for myself.

Judy and Cathy: That neck warmer is a #4 yarn - a little on the heavy side. I like the way it turned out with the colors, too. It started to work that way and I encouraged it work out to be reversible with and without the black stripes. I've also made a blue cowl scarf out of bulky yarn for the shop. Love the feel of it!

Yes, Ginger (that's my 18" doll for those who haven't met her) is here, but I haven't made anything for her yet this trip. I've had some requests for other items that I am trying to get made and into the shop so those are rolling off of the needles and hooks now. I wish I could reach my yarn stash at home while I am here, but my arms aren't long enough. ;) I really, really need some pretty blues and greens here, too. Catherine will be here at the end of October and will take home what I have made so I can get it listed in the shop, hopefully in time for Christmas shopping.

River: You sound very busy, too. I like Beth's dolls, too, and her blog is fantastic. The dolls are so darling! I hope you'll publish pictures of what you make on your blog.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by and for your very, very kind comments. I look forward to visiting your blogs on Sunday when we are in a US port and I have my Verizon connection.

All the very best,
Lois
