People on the Royal Promenade

Good morning,

I'm going for another walk down the Royal Promenade of Freedom of the Seas today.  Beatrice of the Frog and PenguINN and others have commented that they don't see people in the pictures I have been posting of this beautiful ship.  Little do they know how long I have stood in a spot waiting for the place I want to photograph to be clear of people before I take my pictures.  :)

So, today I have purposely included some people in these shots of things I have missed in some of my other walks down the Royal Promenade.  ;)
Here's a busy afternoon on board...
...with shops and restaurants doing a booming business.
Here is a stairway I missed when I posted pictures of stairways on board.
This one is between the Royal Promenade on deck 5 and the Photo Gallery on deck 4.
And, here is another important stairway I missed before.
This one leads from the Royal Promenade on deck 5...

...to the Casino Royale on deck 4.

And, this is the same staircase looking up from deck 4.
Back on deck 5, this is a day to shop for some great merchandise.
Or, stop in at the barber shop for a shave and a haircut.
Here is artwork on the wall...
...Bull and Bear bar.
At the end of the Royal Promenade is the elegant Champagne Bar.
Every time we take a stroll on deck 5, there is something else to see.  It is quite easy to find your way around this huge ship with maps and directories at every turn.

I hope you are having fun here.  Who knows who or what we will see on board tomorrow.  ;)

Very best,
Lois

It is just AMAZING HOW POSH the ships are! Quite unreal. They are a town within a ship aren't they?! It is strikingly beautiful! maybe someday!!...debbie

Thanks Lois for the people shots in this post. It amazes me that you could have found times when no one weas around after seeing the large number of folks in this post. I've been catching up on blog reading as we are starting on our own road trip this weekend to see the fall foliage in Maine - first time!

Good morning,

Yes, Debbie, this is a floating city all right! Just think about it: it's all here, everything we need. There is no power cord back to Port Canaveral, all the food is on board for the journey, and people from more than 60 nations get along to run the ship and care for the guests on board. It's amazing.

Yes, Beatrice, it isn't often there aren't people around, but I do always have my camera in my pocket to take advantage of photo ops as I walk through the ship. There is so much to do on board that, unless there is a specific activity planned in an area, it never feels as if there are several thousand guests and crew on board at the same time.

Thank you, ladies, for stopping by.

Very best,
Lois

I missed commenting on this post Lois, but I do view them all. When you think about the massive WEIGHT of the ship floating on the sea...it's very impressive!

I've been doing a bit of catch up as blog reading has been hit or miss while we've been traveling. Every post you make on the ship is always something new and interesting, and the detail that are displayed are fantastic. I have very much enjoyed cruising with you.
