Needlework Update - June, 2013

Good morning,

This has been a very busy month of moving from the high seas to home, but there are still some finished items to show you.  The luggage identifiers are to restock the shop in this color.  These little things are so very helpful on the handle of your luggage when you are trying to find your own among the hundreds on the belt at the airport or cruise ship terminal.  Click on the images to see items that are listed in the shop.
This is a very soft cowl scarf that also works beautifully as a hood.  This is a scarf that won't slip off while you drive or walk the dog.
This is a similar cowl in burnt orange and buff.  So soft!
This deep purple cowl and hat are in 100% wool and are made in a lace stitch.  So elegant!
Here's another version of the deep purple 100% wool lace hat, this one with pom pom.
This Royal Purple Basket Weave Sweater is in a different yarn than the hats and cowl above.  It is in adult size 38-42 and, at this writing, is still available in the shop.
Another little turtle hatched this month, too.  ;)  Similar turtles are available in the shop.
This and four more were special orders and have already flown to Dallas, Texas.  Yes, those are University of Texas - Dallas colors.  :)  What a great way to gift wrap a bottle of wine or sparkling water.  Or, they are the perfect table decoration and/or door prize.  Of course, I can make them in any colors someone wants to order.

And, above is a preview.  This sweater has been pre-ordered and I am working on it daily.  I just LOVE these colors called "ocean."   I'll show it to you here in the next needlework update, but the sweater has already been sold. I also have an order to make another Cables and Lace Sweater (click to see the one in the shop) in another color. I have promised these two sweaters before we return to sea in August, so I am cranking away on them every day.  Making these is truly a labor of love so I look forward to every moment I can work on them.

Started, but on hold until I finish the custom orders is a pink sweater in child size 2, light green and yellow flowers for a baby blanket, and a short blue cape.

Something else wonderful that is happening while we are home, but time consuming, is all the changes for my craft room here at home.  A spare bedroom is getting more lighting, shelving, and tables to become a REAL craft room.  I am so excited about it, but it sure requires lots of time moving and rearranging while the work is being done.

So, that's it for this month.  I hope you enjoy seeing what flows off of the needles and hooks around here.  I truly do enjoy seeing what you are knitting, crocheting, sewing, quilting, baking, and growing.

So, until next month's needlework update, we return you to our regularly scheduled blogging.  ;)

All the best,
Lois

Nice things you do.

Love the colors.

I love the purple ones. It doesn't show things for men, why is that?

Hi everyone,

I like the cowl scarves, too, TexWis.

Bob, although most items are for ladies, we do have some hats, scarves, and sweaters that are suitable for men in the "ladies and Men" section of the shop:

Thanks for your kind words, Sparkle, TexWis, and Bob.

All the best,
Lois

Oh, goodness, I was just reminded that there are plenty of wood items (pens, bottle openers, etc.) available in the shop for men, too.
