The Price of Peanut Butter Crackers

Good morning,

Do you ever get hungry while on a road trip?  Sure, we do, too.  We always have water and I try to have some reasonably healthy snacks in the car for trips, but recently when we came straight from the ship, I hadn't stocked the car with any snacks.
Over the several days we drove home, we bought some peanut butter crackers (we were in a peanut butter cracker rut) in three different states and at three different prices in this order:

Georgia - $.50 each
North Carolina - $.75 each
Kentucky - $1.50 each!

Needless to say, I'll pick up a package these at Sams before the next trip.  ;)  I'll also take along some apples, raisins, nuts, celery, baby carrots....  What snacks do you pack for road trips?

All the best,
Lois

I like to buy those crackers (and similar, like the white ones with white cheese) to keep in my desk at work.

Big diffence in prices. We usually take almonds n pretzels for our traveling snacks n bottles of water.

Good morning, we try not to have many salty things, as that makes you want to drink more which in turns means more pit stops at the bathroom.

It is cheaper to buy the crackers in a larger size with individual packages in it. But you know that already.

Anything bought at a road side gas station are more expensive, but that's quite a difference from one state to another.

I like to have hard wrapped candies to suck on, that saves having to drink so much. We haven't taken a road trip for years. As long as Abe has his coffee, he doesn't care what snacks we have. LOL

I always buy those same snacks pretty much. I just bought some peanut butter crackers similar to yours when we went to Bowdoin the other day. They were $.65 each.

wow, that's quite a variance! guess georgia is cheaper on peanut butter since they grow the peanuts locally. :)

As snowbirds from New England , we have only Original Wheat Thins for snacks on the way to Florida. Oh, and Werther's butterscotch candy, but they're always in the car anyway.

Kumquats are a very road trip friendly fruit. We love them, but they are an acquired taste.

Always have bottled water with us on road trips and sometimes a dark chocolate candy bar.
