Spring Flowers, Kids, and Kitties

Good morning,

I get a kick out of seeing all of the beautiful flowers appearing on blogs of people in different areas.
Some are far ahead of our blooming season, some haven't started at all.  This group of tiny daffs once graced the side of a bench beside the catalpa tree in our front yard.  That tree and the bench are now gone, but these pretty daffs continue to bring a smile every Spring.
The crocus came and went very quickly this year, probably because of the heavy rain that arrived as soon as the crocus began to bloom.
That is what is so good about cameras.  We can continue to enjoy these long after the rain knocked them down.
And, on another note, my granddaughter settled into a chair the other day and her sister's cat moved right in to a comfy spot.
Katie said, "Grandma!  Come take a picture of us and put it on your blog!"  Well, here it is.  ;)

Enjoy!

Lois  (aka Grandma)

Beautiful spring flowers, Lois! Not any here yet, but I have been cheating and bought some pots with daffodils and put outside my door. The snow is almost gone, so there will soon be some flowers too. Spring is wonderful!
And your grandchild and cat are beautiful too!

My early crocus blooms have come and gone - taken away by the 6 inches of snow last week. My tulip and daffodil stalks have pushed through the snow but it's awhile yet before they will bloom. Spring can't come soon enough for us this year! Thanks for this reminder that Spring will come!

(lol) I got a charge out of what your granddaughter said. I can see a few of my grandchildren saying that :)
I need to get some daffodils planted here at our new place. We bought our house from a bachelor and there's not too much color planted here.

I think my favorite thing about moving to Florida is the extended gardening season. I'm loving learning all the new plants I can grow. Sadly, daffodils and tulips are out of the question. :-(

Lois, you will be there soon enough with spring blooms. I wish we had some crocus blooms in our yard, but not even any volunteers, unlike the daffodils which seem to multiple each season (yeah!). They are preferred over the day lillies, The Viking Festival sounds like a fun event and we will be looking forward to the photos, but will have to pass it up this year as we will be awaiting the arrival of our granddaughter in RI.

Good morning,

That was a fun post for me, too. Katie is a little doll. It's funny how the kids suggest things for my blog. So cute!

Jenny, I've heard of people in Florida putting tulip and daffodil bulbs in the fridge/freezer during the winter, then planting them in the Spring to get them to bloom. It sounds like a lot of trouble, but they do get them to bloom in Florida with a little trickery. ;) I think I would just visit my local florist and pick up a pot of them.

Thank you so much, everyone, for stopping by and your kind comments.

Very best,
Lois

For some reason yesterday most of the photos in your post wouldn't load, but today they came up just fine. Bloggie gremlins? At any rate, your spring flowers are beautiful, and the photos of Katie and the cat are precious. Some of the best moments in life are the little ones shared with a precious child.

Of course love the kitty picture! (And the sweet girl is beautiful too.) I spotted my first daffodil today around here too!
