Tunisian (Afghan) Stitch Sweater for 18" Doll - Crochet

Good morning,

Yesterday I received a set of interchangeable afghan hooks for my birthday from My Honey.  Of course, I came right home and had to try them out.  ;)

I designed and made this sweater for my 18" doll, Ginger.  The pattern is below if you would like to make one, too.

Thanks, Honey, for the new hooks!  I just love new toys for my needlework projects.

:),

Lois

Hello Lois
Making time to say Hello and Happy Birthday for whenever it is lol It was lovely of your family to treat you before the latest sailing and also give you such thoughtful gifts. Bet the crafty things get a real work out over the next few weeks.
Like Debbie I thought Ginger had a vintage look about her - 1950's maybe? whatever I rather like the sweater you designed for her nice colours also. What sort of knitting stitch do you think would equal the crochet one you have used?
Thanks for popping in and for your recent comments - it must be hard at times to find the time to click through - I know I find it that way.
Take care
Cathy

Good morning,

Ginger is only about eight years old. She is from Michael's and is my model to make clothes for our Granddaughter's 18" American Girl Dolls. Ginger has had a rough life traveling in my suitcase each time I am away from home. She tells me she doesn't mind, though, because she gets lots of new clothes. ;)

Cathy, you asked about a knitting stitch converstion. I would guess a good conversion would be #10 (US) knitting needles and #4 (same as I used) yarn. Each row (forward or reverse) = 1 row stockingette stitch.

I have Ginger traveling with me again and will complete her outfit. She can't run around in just a sweater! I'll publish the patterns for whatever I design for the rest of her outfit as soon as complete.

Thank you, everyone, for stopping by.

Very best,
Lois

Lois, what a delightful sweater! I've never done Tunisian crochet, but love the way it looks. Sounds like you have a honey of a Honey :-)
