Decorating!

Good morning,

I'm still busy decorating here on board Freedom of the Seas.  I crocheted that happy Santa with adaptations to my Springy Doll (pattern here.)

I'm also making some other decorations that I hope to finish and photograph to share here, too.  ;)
Early this morning I walked out into the hallway near our stateroom and the sky lights allowed stunning rays to light these poinsettias.  Just gorgeous!

Are you ready for Santa at your house?  ;)

Very best,
Lois

Lois, anyplace you hang holiday decorations makes it seem a bit like "home" regardless of where you are celebrating. Santa is a good addition anywhere and the poinsettas were lovely with the light hitting them just so.

Traveling must be nice if you are on the right ship. I went across the Pacific once in a puke laced "troop carrier" -- the USS Breckenridge. The other four times I was able to fly in a three-engine Constellation and a four-engine Globemaster--courtesy of the armed forces. The sea trip was OK once everyone got past the first three days of being seasick.

I also got to go to Iwo Jima on a smaller ship that bobbed around like a cork, more or less, on the swells. It was OK and I didn't get sick.

I watched a program on television the other night about a man who moved to an island in the Pacific and took up residence there with a few native people. He likes it a lot.

We are still covered in snow here in this part of Ohio. And more is scheduled for Friday and Saturday—lots more.

I did enjoy your photos.

I hope you have a nice Christmas and a good new year.

Hello Lois
I've begun to look forward to seeing what 'crafty' things you get up whilst you're away:))
Thats a good looking quirky Santa - pity I don't crochet. Maybe you could adapt it to a knitting pattern for all us knitters lol
Anyway at the moment its 10am on Christmas Eve here in Melbourne, the sun is shining and theres no rain forecast, so I have popped in to say Merry christmas and best wished for 2011. Hope all your dreams come true in 2011 and the times you spend on the oceans are good times.
BTW we have booked another cruise, round trip Sydney - New Zealand - Sydney November 2011 yes, an early booking indeed but I have to have something to look forward to lol
Take care
Cathy

Good morning and Merry Christmas!

Ah, the holiday decorations are growing around here at the last minute. I'll be sharing more of them as soon as I can get the pictures, format them, then get enough band width to upload them. It is just beautiful here.

Abraham, let me assure you we are on the right ship! I'm sure your experiences on troop ships were not nearly as pleasant. :\

Cathy, enjoy your cruise! Yes, planning far in advance is fun. You can have such a good time just doing the planning and thinking about the next cruise. That's the cure for the cruise blues when you leave a ship: be sure the next cruise is already planned. :)

Thank you so much, everyone, for stopping by.

Very warm Christmas hugs to all,
Lois
