Canoeing in Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Good morning,

Here is a post that my friend Sherry of Sherry's Place will probably enjoy.
I looked out of my stateroom window and saw lots of canoes floating into view.
First five, then seven...
The first ones waited...
...until even more appeared.  The larger boat was not oar powered, but motor powered.  It was surely along on this excursion to pick up any lost paddles or canoes or people.  ;)

I grabbed these pictures with my baby camera through the double glass of my window.  The flotilla of canoes paddled out of sight rather quickly with its "mother ship" puttering along with them.

So, Sherry, you can canoe on the blue sea outside Jamaica, too!

Enjoy,
Lois

Hello Lois
It certainly looks a lot warmer where you are than it is outside my house at the moment - its about 6c/43f now (9pm) with gale force winds and storms predicted for overnight. Yes, its winter in Melbourne.
This cruise ship looks rather nice - slightly larger than the one we'll be on soon. We will be on our way to Canada next week and will start the trip with a cruise to Alaska on one of HAL's ships. Not our first time so I do know whats ahead of us - however I'm not sure how warm it going to be up there - but, never mind we'll be on holiday so who cares lol
With all the worry of Dh's recent illness I've been reading blogs via my reader and am only just getting round to visiting other blogs and commenting. Thank you so much for droppping in and for all the lovely comments you have been leaving.
Take care
Cathy

Nice, but I definitely would prefer to be on the inside looking out - canoing in a lake is OK, ocean not so much.

Your baby camera did an excellent job Lois! And while I love being on water in a boat or ship, I don't know that I could handle the canoe on the ocean. I have a fear of deep water, being in it more than on it, but the canoes would be a bit small for me I think! Love Di ♥

Looks like they were having fun. The cruise we went on stopped at Ocho Rios, and we spent our day climbing Dunn's Falls. That was quite an experience, and I'm glad I did it then, because I don't think I would be able to now.

Good morning,

Yes, it is very warm out there. Being on board the "mother ship" where the air conditioning is very good is often the place to be. ;)

Cathy, I hope your husband is much better and that you enjoy your cruise. There is no such thing as a bad cruise; they are all good!

Sherry, those canoes are out there every time we are here in Ocho Rios. It looks like a popular event. ;)

Yes, Elain, Dunn's River Falls is a big draw here, too. That's another one I'll pass on since I don't want to get my camera wet. Ha! Really, I know there is a path along the side of the river where people can see the Falls without climbing them.

Thank you so much, everyone, for stopping by.

Very best,
Lois
