Fungus Amongus

Good morning,

Here's a pretty I found at another stop on our road trip through South Carolina.

If I wanted pictures of fungus framed and on the walls in my house, this would be a good candidate.  ;)

Best,
Lois

I don't know why, but mushrooms gross me out. :-) It drives me nuts that they are growing all over my garden now. This one is pretty, though, I will admit.

I find fungi very fascinating. So many colours, sizes and varieties. I like the ruffled edge on this one.

Oh can you eat these? I watched a progran on Discovery and it said flowers, mushrooms one can eat?

It is you have to read up on what they are all. Seeing i live in the wirld bush area with lots of berries and so forth.

Is this just a pix of a real mushroom?

Lovely!

Hi everyone,

Sparkle, I have no clue if this mushroom can be eaten. I don't plan to try it, either, because I just don't know enough about them. Yes, it is real. :) It was just so pretty and it jumped right into my camera.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by and your very kind comments.

All the beset,
Lois

Pretty mushroom and lovely photo. Mushrooms have started popping up in our yard, like they do every summer about this time. I know many of them are edible, but like you I don't know enough about them to eat them, even though I do have a little book on Alaska mushrooms.

I'd probably avoid nibbling on it, but that's a beautiful photo of it!
