There's a Fungus Among Us!

Good morning,

There had been recent rain at the park where we found this fungus.
If you don't happen to see them as you're walking across the grass they feel really squishy and sandals aren't recommended.

Ewwww. That wouldn't be very pleasant Lois. We found some last year that was bigger than hubby's hand and very thick. They were some kind of giant mushroom I think.

LOL, we have those darn things crop up in the yeard every once in awhile. Sometimes sever different varieties. They are in deed squishy!! lol...debbie

No sandals for me! LOL. I rarely wear them - too many mosquitoes around here in the summer months.

I occasionally find mushrooms in my Connecticut yard and it usually means that something below the surface (like roots from a cut-down tree) is rotting away.

I get tickled just picturing walking barefoot and stepping on one before you see it.

Nope, don't want to step on one in sandals. But better than the slug I stepped on in my bare feet when I lived in Seattle. That happened over 40 years ago and it's still clear in my mind.
