Ropes, Pulleys, Chains, Hooks

Good morning,

It was fun to look at the details, the small things, on board the River Queen while we cruised on the Ohio River.
The old ways of making things work still works!

That's our gangway in the image above.  We came across that gangway to come on board and would go ashore the same way.
Enjoy the details!

I am always amazed at man's ingenuity...some stuff you can see it develope after the first step...but who made the first step...like who thought of pulleys? And chains...

I thought I'd seen that gangway attached in earlier photos, but let it go. It seems odd to me that they go with the boat and are not part of the pier/wharf. And yes, I enjoy your perspectives-you have an excellent eye.
