Three Special Guys and Two Special Dogs

Good morning,

Our son and his wife have six terrific children, three boys and three girls.  Since we can't fit them all in the car to take them out we spend time with them in groups.  ;)  This particular day we took the three boys out for lunch, then to our friend Erica's to enjoy her pool and lake.  Our daughter, Catherine, met us at Erica's with our two dogs, Penny and Erik.

After picking up the three boys, we drove about ten yards from our son's driveway and saw the deer in the image above.
Suddenly, more deer appeared.  We put the car in park as My Honey and I fumbled for our cameras and two more deer appeared for a total of six.  I barely got these images before a car came down the road next to them and scared them back into the trees.  What a beautiful sight!
So, with boys in the back seat telling us everything that was new and wonderful in their lives, we got on the highway toward Erica's house.
But first, we stopped for lunch.  Guess where we are!  OK, that wasn't hard to answer.  We are at IHop, a favorite of all five of us.  After we ate and before we left we ordered a sandwich to go for Catherine.
Now onto the two lane highways, we had plenty to talk about with the boys.  This nifty machine was trimming trees back away from the road.
Finally at Erica's we were greeted in the driveway by our daughter, Catherine, and at the door by Erica's Brittanys.  Our Penny and Erik were already at the pool wondering what was taking us so long to get there.   Not all of the dogs were out at the same time and not everyone was in the pool at the same time.
Our Erik wanted to take his turn in the pool first.  ;)
Erik and Penny are here with Catherine at least twice a week so they know the routine.
They are all very well behaved and know to wait until they are told they can go in. We let the dogs swim and retrieve tennis balls first.

I'll have some great water shots of our canine athletes and of the boys to share very soon.

All the best,
Lois

Be sure to check out this terrific blog!  I so enjoy Lynn's stories of knitting, farming, and just living in Italy.

Thank you, everyone, for entering the give away.

GrandKids can be so much fun. Dogs too!!

It is so nice that your dogs are so well behaved. Not everyone teaches their dogs manners.... but then again, not everyone teaches their kids manners either. LOL

I can't believe that your son has 6 kids.
I can't believe that your dogs are so well behaved to wait for the go-ahead for the pool.
I can't believe that you saw those beautiful deer just there by the road and that you had your camera to capture the image.
AND I can't believe that I won your give away!!!! Is all this stuff really true?
thank you!!!
