View from Devou

Good morning,

One of the spots to take pictures of Cincinnati is across the Ohio River at Devou Park in Northern Kentucky.
This tree, now obviously broken and half down is surely the tree that was here and in the sides of images my father took here many years ago.  It appears the tree was hit by lightning, yet manages to stand tall.
This seating area was not here when I was a child.  It is so lovely to be able to sit, relax, and enjoy the view.
As you sit among the roses...
...this is your view.

Now that the seating viewing area is open, the old tree will no longer be part of so many pictures taken here.
So, here's a view of Cincinnati from Devou Park on a hot and hazy morning.  The large bridge in the foreground is the I-75 bridge connecting Ohio and Kentucky.  If you look carefully on the right side of the image you can see the Roebling Suspension Bridge, John Roebling's prototype for the Brooklyn Bridge.

Enjoy,
Lois

What contrast!! I'm not much of a city girl, but I have to admit, it's a pretty scene!

What a beautiful view of Cincy!!! It has a great skyline, with the pretty buildings and stadium. We have some friends in Union, Ky. Not too far from there is it?...debbie

Lovely pictures of the city, but, is the flag flying at half mast and why?

Hi,

Yes, the flag is at half mast and we weren't sure why.

It is a beautiful place to get pictures. I think the heat was a big part of why we were there by ourselves that day.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by and for your kind words.

Very best,
Lois

Great pictures Lois. I've been there once, many years ago. The flag caught my attention. Wonder why it was at half mast.

It's a lovely view of the city. I like that you are taking photos of the same places as your dad.
