Tennessee to Ohio

Good morning,

We left our hotel (no, that's not it above) and before we could get onto the highway spotted this barn on the next hill.  We worked our way over there to get this image.  I was using my baby Canon Power Shot SX210IS, but my Honey took some with his Canon 7D that you will surely see on his blog. too.
I love having my "baby" Canon available so I can get images while the car is rolling.  My Honey did stop for me to shoot this basic barn just down the road from the one above.
This is the view of the grey barn from down on the highway. The barn just seemed to have so much character.  It could probably tell quite a few good stories, too.
On the road and heading North!
 We moved quickly from Tennessee...
...to Kentucky.  Above is the Kentucky Arts and Crafts Museum.  We stopped here once several years ago.  We had limited time so didn't get to see everything we would have liked to see.  There are live demonstrations by artists as well as more permanent displays.  There is also a restaurant here so you can spend the day without having to go out for lunch.  ;)
It always feels closer when we start seeing signs for Cincinnati. :)
And, there she blows!  Cincinnati is on the other side of the Ohio River from here.  The view as we come into the Ohio River Valley from the Kentucky side is always a welcome sight.
 Then over the river,
 through the Lytle tunnel,
 through Eden Park,
past the Krohn Conservatory (oh, look!  it's time for the Butterfly Display!), and just down the road we will be HOME!

I hope you've enjoyed traveling with us.

Very best,

Lois

I loved the old barn Lois. It is fun to imagine all that went on there in the past. Seems like your trip home was a pleasant one.
I think I'd have to go and check out that butterfly display!
Love Di ♥

The first barn does have a dignified look, its structure really seems to be in good condition, if one overlooks the missing boards, to see the strong lines and what looks like a firm foundation.

I'm sure your family and sweet dogs will be glad to see you both back home in Cincinnati.

There is something about old barns that tugs at my heart. Nowadays they are metal and don't have the charm they used to. Yes, it would be neat to know the days they have seen.

I'm sure you feel the same about Cincinnati as I feel about Toronto when I'm returning from afar. Glad you made it home safely!

Good morning, everyone,

Yes, being home is wonderful even though there is so much to do there won't be much relaxing for awhile.

It is wonderful to see the family and the doggies!!!!!!!!!!

In addition to the paint and carpet and all that stuff, I just got an order for 4 fashion doll outfits through my Etsy store. So, when I sit down from the other stuff, my fingers will still be busy.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your very kind words.

Hugs,
Lois

I LOVE old barns!! They're so full of 'character'. And your trip looks like a lot of fun! Just took a raft trip kinda like that over the July 4th
weekend.

I love that old barn! It's always a good feeling to get home after being gone for a while. No matter how much you've enjoyed your travels, there really is no place like home.
