Flowers in Our Garden

Good morning,

We had lots of rain at home this summer so despite the fact that we were away until July, there are flowers growing and blooming.
Some we have invited, some we haven't, but they are all pretty.
This is what happens when you're not home to remove spent Iris blooms.  I suspect I may have seeds for a new color of Iris in here since I have several varieties as do my neighbors so the bees may have created something new.
This Hardy Hibiscus is in my front yard.  I transplanted it here when it was very tiny after it grew as a volunteer in our back yard near other Hibiscus.  I've kept it trimmed so it grows in the shape of a tree rather than a bush.  I just love it.
Before we left town last April I threw a package of wildflower seeds into the area where we had removed a large Catalpa tree last year.
I was pleased to find we have some flowers!
And, last but not least, my common orange Day Lilies always come through for us.

What's blooming at your place?

Best,
Lois

Beautiful! I had to plant flowers here last fall and my coneflowers are doing great. I've been wanting to plant wildflowers, maybe next spring.

Your garden grew very well while you were away! I grow my hibiscus plants as bushes but I bet yours is gorgeous as a tree!

Lois, your flowers are dreamy!! You must have a green thumb. I brought back some hardy hibiscus seeds to plant, but our spring and summer-so-far has been so awful, they are still sitting on my dresser!! The ones I planted at my sister's in Maine, though, are thriving. Thanks for sharing such beauty! ~karen

Hi Lois...Your flowers are lovely..so who takes care of all this while you are gone...your daughter perhaps??

Hi Everyone,

These great flowers took care of themselves with a lot of help from Mother Nature's extra rain this spring/early summer. Our daughter does a great job of keeping the grass cut and a friend keeps the bushes/hedges trimmed. What I didn't include in the pictures were the many weeds I should get out there and remove. It is just too darned hot to do that right now! ;)

Thank you all so very much for stopping by and for your very kind comments.

Best,
Lois
