Good morning,
Happy Halloween!
This group of spider webs in the wood pile was just so pretty sparkling in the sun this morning.
Beautiful!
Enjoy,
Lois

Norwegian Farm Land
Good morning,
Although the growing season is short compared to the USA, Norway has beautiful farm land, especially in Southern Norway.
We were so fortunate to have gorgeous weather while we were there in June.
We drove around the area where My Honey was born and grew up.
This was a bit unusual to see the horse and rider on the sidewalk, but this is a country road so what is truly unusual is that there is a sidewalk here in the country.
Just beautiful.
Enjoy,
Lois

Husoey Church
Good morning,
The last time we visited Norway and this old church in Toensberg on the Island of Husoey, was in 2002.
Nothing has changed since then except for some new tombstones in the graveyard.
What a beautiful, peaceful place.
We were blessed by the wonderful weather, too, so that we could capture pictures of our visit to save and enjoy later.
We walked all the way through the grave yard. Notice the watering cans hanging on the rack on the left. Those are here for friends and relative to water flowers they have planted in the designated space on each grave.
We found many, many relatives and friends.
Notice the "MaskinsJeff" on this stone. It means Chief Engineer. Many Chief Engineers and Captains are buried here. Many families were entirely made up of mariners.
This is Uncle's grave.
And, so many friends. The bottom line on many of the stones, "Hvil i fred" translates to "Rest in Peace."
What a beautiful place.
All the best,
Lois

The Old Neighborhood
Good morning,
Today's images are more from the neighborhood where My Honey grew up on the Island of Husoey in Toensberg, Norway.
We are driving down the street where he lived.
And into an area where he and his tricycle had a run-in with a truck.
The truck came around this corner...
...here with a larger view including the street at the bottom right.
My Honey came down this street on his tricycle...
...and collided with the truck at the bottom.
Fortunately, a cab was called (closer/quicker than an ambulance on the island back then) and he was taken to a hospital where they literally reconstructed his foot. Thank heavens he lived in a time and place where good medical care was available.
On down the street we found a lovely flower planter.
What a beautiful neighborhood!
We walked down by the water...
...and got a kick out of this pink boat that My Honey said was not there when he was last here.
This one probably was here!
Beautiful flowers in Norway in June.
This didn't look very safe. At least he has a roll bar.
Before you laugh too hard, the translation is "speed bumps."
Summer ski exercise!
More images of the old stomping grounds to come.
Enjoy,
Lois

Drive to Husoey
Good morning,
Today's images are more from our trip to Norway in June of this year.
We drove through beautiful farm land to the island where My Honey was born and grew up.
The area hasn't changed much after all of these years.
This was My Honey's childhood home overlooking...
...the sea.
We were blessed with beautiful weather while we were here.
More images to come from the old neighborhood. :)

Pumpkins!
Good morning,
The Culinary Team aboard Freedom of the Seas includes many artists who can do so much more than make fabulous food!
For Halloween we get a treat of happy, funny, and just pretty carved faces.
This guy just doesn't look happy, but he does make me smile.
Enjoy!
