Good morning,
One of Royal Caribbean's private island ports of call is Labadee, Haiti.
Over many years RCI has developed this port, added a dock and plenty of water sport activities.
Just gorgeous!
For those who have a hard time getting around, there are special wheel chairs that work very well on sandy beaches.
Time for a day at the beach!
Enjoy,
Lois

Sea as Smooth as Glass - Off Grand Cayman
Good morning,
One of the most delightful things about cruising is the ever-changing views we enjoy.
As we slowly slid into our anchor spot off Grand Cayman aboard Freedom of the Seas early in the morning, it appeared the sea was just waking up.
This is the view from our living room window.
Tender boatds pulled along side Freedom prepared to take guests ashore for a day in this beautiful paradise.
Just gorgeous!
Enjoy,
Lois

Life Boat Drill - Montego Bay, Jamaica
Good morning,
Drills, drills, and more drills!
Although these might be mistaken for alien space pods on the water, these are Freedom of the Seas life boats taking part in a regular life boat drill.
These drills are training sessions for crew responsible for various evacuation duties and...
...tests of the equipment to be sure everything is in top working order.
Hopefully, we never have to use these.
All the best,
Lois

Very, Very Big Catalytic Converter
Good morning,
Recently I showed you the large piece of equipment on the dock in Port Canaveral that was destined to be installed on board Freedom of the Seas.
Today I am publishing the images of the new "scrubber," a huge catalytic converter to clean exhaust gasses being lifted into place above the Viking Crown Lounge which is on Deck 14 of this huge ship.
I'm standing on Deck 12 taking these pictures.
Here it comes!
I estimate it is about the level of Deck 8 here.
Now it is almost along side Deck 12.
Up and over!
Closer...
...closer...
...closer...
...almost there!
The new equipment will be mounted here and will have a cover around it. There is still a great deal of work to be done. It should be operational sometime in December.
There is always something different happening on board a ship!

Johnny Rockets - Freedom of the Seas
Good morning,
It's such fun to have so many varieties of food and activities on board Freedom of the Seas.
Usually, every time our daughter is on board we go to Johnny Rockets for one meal.
We were so busy this time, though, that we passed on Johnny Rockets. We did manage to get to the new Mexican restaurant, Sabor.
:),

Going Ashore in Montego Bay, Jamaica
Good morning,
Here are a few more images of Montego Bay, Jamaica.
There aren't many things to do right at the port so the best way to see Jamaica from this port is to take a tour. The tour buses were all lined up and waiting for the guests.
There is a small "village" of shops on the dockside where you can get local souvenirs.
Local musicians provide the music (and have a hat out for tips)) for guests as they go ashore.
I moved across deck 12 and took pictures from various angles. It appears there is enough merchandise for sale for each guests to take home a suit case full of souvenirs. ;)
There is also a commercial side to this port.
It appears there are a few customers.
Enjoy,
Lois

Flow Rider - Freedom of the Seas
Good Morning,
High on the aft part of Freedom of the Seas is the Flow Rider.
Every once in awhile I stop to take a few pictures here while on my walks around the ship.
No, I haven't tried it, but know that those who have become addicted to...
...being able to hang ten while at sea.
Very, very cool!
