Food that Speaks to Me

Good morning,

Does food speak to you?  It does to me.  I was walking through the dining room today where we have a bowl of fruit.  There were bananas in that bowl.  Those bananas had been in that bowl for at least four days.  Suddenly I heard them!  They were whispering "Banana Bread, Banana Bread, Banana Bread...."

Now, who am I to disappoint a bowl of geriatric bananas?

I made banana bread.
While the bananas were basking in the heat, er, uh, baking in the oven, I made some beef stew.  Good old fashioned beef stew.  My goodness that was good  That's real comfort food made at home.

I love being home in our own kitchen!

What is your favorite comfort food?

Delicious looking! In winter months, I love making home-made Chili and Cornbread.

If your food talks to you(except Rice Crispies), you might need a checkup from the neck up!
But everything looks delicious.

It looks very good! It must be good to be home and cook what you want (or what the food tells you). My favorite is Chili con carne, not very Norwegian....

I had dinner. I had orange pound cake. And 4 small squares of dark chocolate off my candy bar. But, darn, that looks yummy!!

They both look delicious and I enjoy them both but I think my comfort food is a chicken dinner. :)

I love the smell of banana bread baking, any bread for that matter.
Comfort food for me is anything that has chocolate in it.

Wondered if you could send samples of each, Lois. Our favorite comfort foods include stew, also meatloaf, mac & cheese, lasagna and homemade breads and muffins.

thank you for the reminder! I love banana bread. I think I'll get some bananas just to let them get mushy for bread.
