Dockside Shops - St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies

Good morning,

You can take tours in most ports, but some people elect to stay closer to the ship.  You don't have to go far to find something to do when you visit most ports on a cruise.

Very nice shopping centers have popped up at the ports where you can shop or just window shop for merchandise from the most exclusive brand name shops.  You can buy locally made crafts, diamonds, beautiful table cloths and more.  You can also eat and enjoy the local music as you explore the dockside shops.

This shopping area is in St. Maarten, Dutch West Indies.  I remember years ago when we came in here we had to take a taxi "downtown" to another part of the island to find shopping and other activities.

Enjoy,
Lois

Looks very "quaint". And I don't even know what quaint means!

Very smart thinking of shop owners to move close to where the ships dock! ;)

That's pretty neat! I agree: it was smart to move close to where the ships dock.
