Our New Computer on Wheels

Good morning,

This is our new computer - on wheels.  :))

We've just had it for a few days so far and are still figuring out all of the fun things it can do in addition to providing a very comfortable ride.

It has some fantastic safety features that I really appreciate having.  One is a rear camera so we can see what is behind the car when we are ready to back up.  Nothing happened, but several years ago my heart nearly stopped when I discovered our youngest grandson had gone behind our car to keep us from leaving when we were at his home.  Had I not counted heads and looked behind the car, we could have had a terrible tragedy.
As soon as the title comes through, we'll have our personal plate on it.

Now we will have two Edges in our back yard.  Daughter Catherine is now driving the creme brulee colored Edge.  She is very happy, too!

Stay tuned for more road trips!

All the best,
Lois

Great ride! The rear camera is a great idea when kids are around. I just read in the papers that a little boy wasn't so lucky as your grandson, and it has happened before...

One of our daughters-in-law has an Edge, and I've often thought that when we ever trade cars, we might get one of those!

Good morning, from the looks of things you have a lot to occupy your time. The Iris is beautiful, I'm assuming it is one you grow.

We have five children, but also only five grandchildren. Three are old enough to produce Great Grandchildren, but don't believe anyone of them have any plans for that. LOL

Abe's due to go into hospital May 14th. to have another aneurysm repaired. This one is above where they repaired one in 1996. In 1996, they opened him to do the repair, but since he's not a good candidate for that type surgery, they are going to try to repair it with the new method, going through the artery with the new tubing. If something should go wrong, they would have to do emergency surgery, so we're hoping it all works out ok.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Cold here this morning, but the sun is shining nice and bright.

Isn't that the truth ... cars are getting so darn smart! I still don't know how to set my clock unless I look it up in the manual ... and that is 7 years running!

I've been a Ford fan all my life. When I first laid eyes on an Expedition several years ago i knew I'd have to have one once the need for a minivan was over. Our youngest is in college and Godzilla is parked in front of the house. Sometimes THE BOSS even lets me drive it. Usually she makes me sit on the passenger side with my mouth shut!

It's interesting to see Ford vehicles in other countries. We own a Ford dealership in Australia (have done for 23 years). It seems we follow the US on models that come out so we will look forward to seeing the Edge or something similar. Currently we have a vehicle called a Territory so eventually we will get the Edge here too.
Nice to see so many people loving their Fords - I drive a Ford Focus (a demonstrator)and am looking forward to getting a new one this week - Yay! - they sold my last one so I get a new one!

Happy a& safe motoring,

Cheers - Joolz

Hi Everyone,

It is fun to see how many Ford fans there are out there. I'm second a generation Ford Fan and our daughter is the third. My father (born 1904) drove a Model T in Hallstead, PA. My grandparents owned the newspaper and printing company in that small town and my Dad, one of 13 children, had the job of driving around to collect the newspaper subscription payments.

We've had quite a number of Mustangs over the years, many of them convertibles. I still own the 1968 Mustang I bought new. Sweet.

The creme brulee colored 2008 Edge that we have been driving for four years is now our daughter's car. Since they both have hands free phone connections, she called today and said, "This is my car calling. Is this your car answering?" Yes, it was. ;)

Ricki Jill, we, too, are very proud of Ford for not taking any bailout money from the government.

Thank you, everyone, for stopping by and for your very kind comments.

All the best,
Lois

Joolz,

My CPA firm was the independent auditor for Ford Dealerships for years so I know Ford from that side, too. :) Ford is an excellent company.

My Honey retired me early about 14 years ago and our daughter, also a CPA, owns the CPA practice now.

All the best,
Lois
