Viera Wetlands Nature Preserve - Viera, Florida - Part I

Good morning,

Wow, did we ever hit on a great place when someone told us about it while we were staying at the Hampton Inn, Viera, Florida.
The Viera Wetlands Nature Preserve is a photographers wonderland.
We spent a couple of hours there capturing images of the creatures who have found a home here.
There are four sections with water at different levels to support different types of wildlife.
This fellow was crossing the road from one section to another...
...and moved much faster than his reputation might indicate.
Tomorrow I'll have a few more images from this beautiful place.

Enjoy!

Lois

I have been enjoying the trip. That sign reminds me of one I came across in Australia....very similar but it was to do with the temperature and big snakes. Needless to say we did not take that trail.

Those are great photos, Lois! Is that a hawk in that one photo? We have them flying over our house and you really captured the feeling of watching these amazing birds soar and float. thank you.
