A Boy and His Dog

Good morning,

That's our Erik and our David catching some shut-eye together a few days ago.

David, his three siblings, and his Dad (our son) lived with us two summers ago when we adopted seven-week-old puppy Erik into our family.  Erik formed bonds for life with David, his brother, and sisters that summer.

Erik is a big boy now, two years old and already earning blue ribbons in agility competition.

The bond between a boy and his dog is quite beautiful, isn't it?

Sweet dreams,
Lois

It's so sweet seeing them together like that Lois. When Jake comes home every other week, the dogs leave my side for the entire weekend to next next to him! I call them traitor dogs!
Love Di ♥

Those are such wonderful shots.
When we got our Sadie, our son Dan who was 21 got really attached to her. It's funny, when he and his wife come to visit, Sadie gets so excited even after not seeing him for months at a time.
There is no age limit for "a boy and his dog". :))

This one really tugs at my heart! I feel sorry for anyone that doesn't have a dog in their life. . . preferably a Lab!!! Thanks for sharing this.

Erik has bonded this way with all four of the children and it is so beautiful. He is cuddly with us adults, too, and spends the night in someone's bed every night - often ours.

Yes, the afghan was made by me way back circa 1975. I made it for my parents in colors to blend with their living room. My Mom died in 1985 and my Dad moved in with us in 1990. The afghan came with him, of course. We have a number of afghans that the kids use on the couch or floor. Those afghans wear like iron and look as pretty as the day they were made.

Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comments. :)

I think those bonds that are formed, will no doubt last a lifetime. Great photo of them.

Love that shot...back when our girls were young, we ended up with two pups just a few weeks apart....and that following summer there were a couple kids down the street that were living with their grandparents...they were probably 4 or 5 years younger than our youngest daughter...actually one of them started before we got the pups, but anyway, they spent the biggest part of every day here....then later, no matter how long it had been since the dogs seen them, and even though they might not recognize them by sight, there was something about their smell and sound that our dogs remembered...now they weren't overjoyed to see them like when we would be gone and come home, but there was that wag of the tail and that look of "I know you...good to see you" that would come into their eyes.

Oh, this is a charming shot, Lois! Hard to beat the combination of little boys with the pets they love! Dogs have always been part of our family too...can't imagine a home without their furry presence...:)
