Good morning,
We had another road trip last weekend to visit my brother just North of Columbus, Ohio.
We enjoy driving the back roads so encounter farm equipment often along the way.
Central Ohio is the heart of Ohio farm country. We saw plenty of harvesting happening in the fields, too.
The driver of this vehicle was very good about staying to the side of the road to allow other traffic to pass.
What a beautiful day!
All the best,
Lois

Eden Park Overlook
Good morning,
We are truly enjoying the beautiful cooler days we are having now in Cincinnati.
A few days ago we visited Eden Park and stopped at the Overlook.
The Ohio River flows past Cincinnati so our side of the river is South Coast of Ohio and the land you see across the water is the North Coast of Kentucky.
This is one of many tour boats on the river. We enjoy taking luncheon cruises. It's time to schedule another one!
Behind us in the park there were plenty of geese in the picnic area. We didn't walk there for obvious reasons!
Quite a few families were at the park and this was a favorite spot to take pictures of the kids.
Of course, there is plenty of commercial traffic on the river, also.
What a beautiful view!
Happy Fall!

Time for a Walk
Good morning,
All Catherine has to do is pick up the leashes and collars for the pups to get excited about taking a walk together.
They all wear harnesses for walking so that they don't pull with their necks and hurt their throats.
They are good about not pulling, but we never know when a squirrel might cross their path and all bets are off!
So sweet!

This Week's Work in Process
Good morning,
I generally have several items in process at the same time. That's because some get too big to take along when I leave my studio and because I try to keep a variety in process to keep my interest. In the image above I was working on the ruffle for a shawl.
This is the next large afghan blanket going together. This one is a field of yellow flowers on a field of green. It will be stunning when finished and spread out on a couch or bed.
What are you making this week?
Lois
Update: The red shawl is now finished. More images here.
Another update! The yellow flowers afghan blanket is finished, too! More images here.

Christmas Dinner?
Good morning,
While we were in Fairfield, Ohio, this week we spotted Christmas Dinner at the side of the road.
It must be all that Charles Dickens I've read over the years, but that's what I think of when I see geese.
No, I didn't take one home.
Seriously, the Canada Geese follow I-75 on their regular trips North and South. They know they are safe in that corridor so have made it their regular route.
Smart geese.

Tonight's Dinner?
Good morning,
Just in case you're wondering where to get one of these for dinner tonight, I found this one at Jungle Jim's International Market in Fairfield, Ohio.
No, I didn't buy it. But, just in case you were looking for one, now you know where to find it.
You're welcome.

Bath Time!
Good morning,
We recently had doggie bath time on the patio.
Our pups enjoy getting baths so line up in order of seniority. Of course, Penny was first.
Then it was Erik's turn. They all really enjoy this.
Finally, it was Wendy's turn.
The pups easily respond to the "stand" command while Catherine washes them
and rinses them.
They stand and wag through the entire event.
Bill was standing by as the dryer. At the right of this image is Bill's Penny. Bill rescued Penny from a shelter and she already had her name. Since we have a Penny, too, we refer to Bill's Penny as Penny, Jr.
Penny, Jr., had never had a bath since Bill got her so it was time. She watched all of this, but still wasn't to sure about it.
Back to Wendy's bath. "Leg" and she raises her leg to be washed on her tummy.
Wendy, our chair dog, likes to get in a chair to get dry. Our Penny was right there for more drying, too. Notice Bill's pants are getting wet as the dogs are getting dry. ;)
Oh, this feels so good! That's Penny, Jr., in the background still watching it all.
It took all hands on deck when it was Penny, Jr.'s turn. We all got pretty busy with that one so I didn't get any pictures.
This was fun for everyone! Even Penny, Jr., will get used to this and enjoy it - eventually.
