Beautiful New Bowl Set

Good morning,

I'm just delighted with this serving bowl set I received from our daughter Catherine.

I am planning on using them in our new recreation room.

Thank you, Catherine!

Love you,

Wendy's Agility Title!

Good morning,

Erik and Wendy competed in Agility Trials this weekend and they are each working their way up in the standings.  The most exciting ribbon above is the center one that Wendy won.  She now has earned a Novice Agility Title.

Yay for our baby Wendy and her handler, Catherine.
Penny took the weekend off and got in some great snooze time on the couch in front of the fireplace.

We will celebrate Penny's 12th birthday at the end of this month.  She is such a sweetheart.

More Bird Houses!

Good morning,

Kjell is busy making more bird houses.
He has designed his own bird house that you see on the computer screen.  The first two bird houses were a custom order and one for our garden.  He is making more for the shop now.

He does fabulous work!

Second Holiday Dinner

Good morning,

Today's images are of the second holiday dinner we had for family.  Our son and family were in Cincinnati from Virginia during the week between Christmas and New Years.
Of course, we had to do the whole holiday dinner again.
Our friend Bill and Aunt Carol (not pictured) are here this evening, too.
Our twin granddaughters just love to visit with our pups.  Wendy is soaking up all the love.
 What a fun evening!
Our twin granddaughters just loved the Norwegian Intarsia knit hats I made for them.  As luck would have it, they had just been eyeing similar hats to buy so these were perfect!
It was definitely the "year of the hat!"  I love that Minnie Pearl look with the item number tags.  ;)
This last shot is of the prime rib roast that Catherine prepared before she popped it into the oven.

This was a spectacular evening with family and great food.

It is good to be home!

Needlework and Wood Update - January, 2017

Good morning,

It has been a busy month!  We've been home from the high seas long enough to make quite a few new things!  I'm leading with the wood items this month because I had to highlight this gorgeous bar that you see above.  Kjell built it in our recreation room and is now working on four bar stools to match.  Gorgeous!
This Blue Bird House in cypress wood was built as a custom order.
This is the prototype in cedar wood that we will use in our own garden.
A gorgeous full size yellow flower afghan blanket was created this month, too. It is available in the shop.
This is an infinity scarf hand knit in very, very soft yarn.  It is displayed as it can be worn as a hood and scarf.  It matches a coat for a small dog or cat that is available in the shop, too.  Infinity/Circle scarves are wonderful to wear when walking the dog because the scarf won't slide off while you're busy holding on to your pup.
These two eye glass cases...
...have also been added to inventory in the shop.  These are the last two made of this very pretty cranberry red sparkle yarn.
This gorgeous sweater set was also a custom order that included the sweater above...
 ...this headband...
...boot cuffs...
...knit hat...
...and crochet hat.  What a pretty mix and match set!
Hats have been big sellers in the shop this month so I've made quite a few to restock.
The two above are hand crocheted in very soft washable non-allergic acrylic yarn.
The one above and the five below are hand crocheted of a soft wool blend that is comfortable in all seasons.

 Hats, hats, and more hats!

And, finally, the one above and the one below are hand crocheted of 100% cotton yarn.

So, that's the update for January, 2017.

We hope you enjoy seeing the updates and even find something you can use or give as a gift in the shop.

Gravlax for the New Year

Good morning,

Our first breakfast of the new year was Norwegian Gravlax served with Gravlax Sauce, my freshly made bread and scrambled eggs.

What a wonderful way to start the year!

The recipe is here for the Gravlax and Sauce.

Many of my bread recipes are here.

Yum!
