Penny Post Op

Good morning,

Our sweet Penny had surgery this past week.  This image was taken 48 hours post op when we were able to get  her to go outside under her own steam, which was the objective.  Before that, we carried her outside to go potty.  In this image she was still on pain meds that made her very sleepy.  She doesn't need them any more.

She is now five days post op and is letting herself out the doggie door and going down and back up the few stairs by the back door.

Penny's spleen and a 12 x 12 cm mass were removed and she is in so much better shape now!  What we and the vet thought was arthritis for some time turned out to be the mass on her spleen that had to have been terribly uncomfortable.

Now she is running and wagging like the Penny of old.   Penny has many titles, but the one she's most proud of is MACH 2 - AKC Master Agility Champion 2.  She's retired from the Agility Ring now, but still likes to go to the dog club to see her friends.

I'll share more pictures of our new and improved Penny soon!  We are so happy and blessed to still have her with us.

All the best,
Lois

Poor Penny! I’m so relieved to hear that she is up and around again. I hate it when our critters are feeling poorly!
