Cherry Crepe
Good morning,
Sometimes you just have to do it. We had dessert for dinner.
That's a cherry-filled crepe with whippy cream.
It was scrumptious!

This was a fabulous meal! Catherine made flank steak, added potatoes and salad, and we had a most delicious, nutritious meal.
Thank you, Catherine!

OSCPA Issues Update - Advance Program
Good morning,
Catherine and I attended the Ohio Society of CPAs' Issues Update this week. It's always a huge crowd to hear what our Society has to share with us about current issues.
It's also an excellent opportunity to see other CPAs we haven't seen since the last meeting.
It was fun.

Wendy in the Workshop
Good morning,
Look who followed me to the basement when I went down to the laundry room.
Near the laundry room is My Honey's Wood Workshop.
Wendy goes down whenever she can to get a little pet on the head.
And, a scratch on the back.
Daddy isn't running his wood working machines now so it's OK for Wendy to be down here. Right now, Daddy is working on his computer designing his next projects.
"What? Is it time to go upstairs now?"
What a sweetie.

Remember These?
Good morning,
Do you remember these candies? Well, they are actually little wax bottles with sugar water inside.
I got a kick out of seeing them at the checkout at Bob Evans.

Wait! I have to take a picture!
Good morning,
We went for sushi again this week and when it was served, I said, "Wait! I want to take a picture." When I grabbed my phone to get that picture, My Honey had beat me to it.
I got this picture after he got his picture.
Four of us shared this plate to sushi this week. It was Catherine, Bill, My Honey, and me.
Yum!

Good morning,
This sweet little darling climbed up on the couch next to me and went to sleep.

Two More Projects in the Works - One Knit, One Crochet
Good morning,
About a week ago we sold the two baby girl afghan blankets with matching dolls that we had listed in the shop. So, I've gotten busy and have started another one. This yarn is so soft and so pretty. This one will be available in the shop soon.
At this writing we have a baby boy blanket with toy turtle available in the shop, too.
I generally have at least one knit and one crochet project going at the same time. That keeps my hands and fingers from making the same repetitive movements for long periods of time.
The current knit project shown above is an intarsia Scandinavian knit sweater with different shaping from the last one (images here). The current sweater will have my usual ribbed bottom, collar, and cuffs as well as the gorgeous contrasting intarsia design at the shoulders. The color of the body of the sweater is blue steel heather. In this picture, it looks more gray. The contrasting design at the shoulders and neckline will be pink and white.
Currently, the sweater project is my "carry out" project for waiting rooms and car trips. The baby blanket project is my "at home" project as I wrangle three balls of yarn as I crochet.
The Blue and The Gray Large Lap Blanket I featured the other day in Work in Process is now finished and in the shop and ready to ship.
What are you making today?

Columbus, Ohio, Skyline
Good morning,
I took this image of the Columbus, Ohio, skyline as we passed by on the highway.
The skyline certainly has changed since I visited this city while my brother was at The Ohio State University back in the late 1950's!
All the best,
Lois

Cincinnati Pops Orchestra's Haunted Hall
Good morning,
I took today's images at Cincinnati's Music Hall, in the beautiful foyer.
We were there for the Halloween concert which was outstanding.
Here you can see the second floor balcony and the gorgeous ceiling of Music Hall.
I love this place. Now that we have retired and are home to attend them, we have season tickets to the Pops once again.

Current Work in Process
Good morning,
Here's the current work in process. It's a large lap or wheelchair blanket. Since visiting my brother in assisted living I have noticed how many people living there are in large size wheelchairs, thus the need for large lap blankets.
This one just happens to be Georgetown University's blue and gray. It will be in the shop soon!

Weeds in Bloom
Good morning,
Sometimes the weeds produce beautiful flowers, too.
I have had some back and neck pain so haven't been out pulling weeds. It seems the weeds are saying thanks!
Lovely.

Daddy's Yellow Pea Soup
Good morning,
Kjell made Yellow Pea Soup a few days ago and it was delicious!
Sausage, bacon, yellow peas, and other veggies combined to make a hearty meal that we enjoyed for two nights.

The Fall color of roadside blossoms is so pretty.
Soon there will be snow here in Ohio, but for now, the last blossoms of Fall are just beautiful.

Wendy's Space
Good morning,
This is just too funny. Wendy loves sleeping in her kennel. This upside down pose was accompanied by loud snoring. Total relaxation.
We keep the doors of the kennels open so the pups can go in and "get away from it all" in their own personal space.
I've tried putting a blanket in there for her, but she just pulls it out so I guess that's the message: just leave me alone in my kennel!
What a sweetie!

John Deere Road Race
Good morning,
We had another road trip last weekend to visit my brother just North of Columbus, Ohio.
We enjoy driving the back roads so encounter farm equipment often along the way.
Central Ohio is the heart of Ohio farm country. We saw plenty of harvesting happening in the fields, too.
The driver of this vehicle was very good about staying to the side of the road to allow other traffic to pass.
What a beautiful day!

Eden Park Overlook
Good morning,
We are truly enjoying the beautiful cooler days we are having now in Cincinnati.
A few days ago we visited Eden Park and stopped at the Overlook.
The Ohio River flows past Cincinnati so our side of the river is South Coast of Ohio and the land you see across the water is the North Coast of Kentucky.
This is one of many tour boats on the river. We enjoy taking luncheon cruises. It's time to schedule another one!
Behind us in the park there were plenty of geese in the picnic area. We didn't walk there for obvious reasons!
Quite a few families were at the park and this was a favorite spot to take pictures of the kids.
Of course, there is plenty of commercial traffic on the river, also.
What a beautiful view!
Happy Fall!

Time for a Walk
Good morning,
All Catherine has to do is pick up the leashes and collars for the pups to get excited about taking a walk together.
They all wear harnesses for walking so that they don't pull with their necks and hurt their throats.
They are good about not pulling, but we never know when a squirrel might cross their path and all bets are off!
So sweet!

This Week's Work in Process
Good morning,
I generally have several items in process at the same time. That's because some get too big to take along when I leave my studio and because I try to keep a variety in process to keep my interest. In the image above I was working on the ruffle for a shawl.
This is the next large afghan blanket going together. This one is a field of yellow flowers on a field of green. It will be stunning when finished and spread out on a couch or bed.
What are you making this week?
Lois
Update: The red shawl is now finished. More images here.
Another update! The yellow flowers afghan blanket is finished, too! More images here.

Christmas Dinner?
Good morning,
While we were in Fairfield, Ohio, this week we spotted Christmas Dinner at the side of the road.
It must be all that Charles Dickens I've read over the years, but that's what I think of when I see geese.
No, I didn't take one home.
Seriously, the Canada Geese follow I-75 on their regular trips North and South. They know they are safe in that corridor so have made it their regular route.
Smart geese.

Tonight's Dinner?
Good morning,
Just in case you're wondering where to get one of these for dinner tonight, I found this one at Jungle Jim's International Market in Fairfield, Ohio.
No, I didn't buy it. But, just in case you were looking for one, now you know where to find it.
You're welcome.

Bath Time!
Good morning,
We recently had doggie bath time on the patio.
Our pups enjoy getting baths so line up in order of seniority. Of course, Penny was first.
Then it was Erik's turn. They all really enjoy this.
Finally, it was Wendy's turn.
The pups easily respond to the "stand" command while Catherine washes them
and rinses them.
They stand and wag through the entire event.
Bill was standing by as the dryer. At the right of this image is Bill's Penny. Bill rescued Penny from a shelter and she already had her name. Since we have a Penny, too, we refer to Bill's Penny as Penny, Jr.
Penny, Jr., had never had a bath since Bill got her so it was time. She watched all of this, but still wasn't to sure about it.
Back to Wendy's bath. "Leg" and she raises her leg to be washed on her tummy.
Wendy, our chair dog, likes to get in a chair to get dry. Our Penny was right there for more drying, too. Notice Bill's pants are getting wet as the dogs are getting dry. ;)
Oh, this feels so good! That's Penny, Jr., in the background still watching it all.
It took all hands on deck when it was Penny, Jr.'s turn. We all got pretty busy with that one so I didn't get any pictures.
This was fun for everyone! Even Penny, Jr., will get used to this and enjoy it - eventually.
