Cincinnati, Ohio to Columbia, South Carolina

Good morning,

We have recently driven from Cincinnati to Florida again, but today's images are from our last trip South.  I have mentioned the antique cars we saw on this trip and even promised to publish the pictures, but haven't done so yet.  Since we are again aboard Freedom of the Seas where I can only upload on US port days (satellite is too slow!), I am publishing these images in advance until I can upload new ones from the current trip South and the ship.
We passed the many quilt barns when we passed through Kentucky.  I never get tired to seeing these.
There was cloud cover, but the weather was dry.  Yeah!
Another quilt barn. :)
We began seeing antique cars!  So cool.
 My parents had a 1948 Buick.  :)
Soon we were leaving Kentucky and entering...
 ...Tennessee.
We generally stop at the rest stop near Jellico, Tennessee.  This time we were treated to the sight of many, many antique cars.  I talked with some of the people and learned they were on their way to a show in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
Are these cool or what!  The cream Edge on the right lined up with the oldies is our car.
This one is from Ohio, too. :)
 And, these cars run!
Some, though, were being trucked to the auto show in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

When we reached North Carolina the rain started.
We went into the tunnel and escaped from a light rain ...
 ...for a short distance.
When we came out the other side...
...the sun was waiting for us.

This was a fun leg of our journey.  We so enjoyed seeing the old cars.

All the best,
Lois

Oh, I so love those old cars. How neat to find them when you are on a road trip...even if it was last year.

Not the usual traffic you see in a rest stop! Lovely old vehicles.
