Taste of Belgium

Good morning,

Taste of Belgium is a relatively new restaurant chain - at least here in Cincinnati.  I guess they've been around for five or six years.

I've eaten here twice.  Once was with a group from my high school when we were planning a reunion.  The second time was this week with my son.  He had a gift card to use so we used it. 

The food was good, but the restaurant sure is crowded and loud.  It was hard to carry on a conversation.

The yellow pansies outside sure are pretty.  ;)

Wally the Therapy Dog

Good morning,

The other day I met Wally the Therapy Dog when I was waiting for a friend in a doctor's office. 

Wally is only six months old and is learning fast.  The part I loved was that he so quickly landed in my lap when I said hello to him.  I'm not so sure he was supposed to do that, but I sure enjoyed it.

Salmon Dinner

Good morning,

There is something wonderful about cooking at home:  you KNOW what goes into what you make.

This dinner of salmon patties, home made seafood sauce, cottage cheese, tomato slice, fresh brussel sprouts, and applesauce was delicious.  I did purchase the applesauce, but it contains only apples, no sweeteners or flavors.  It's not shown here, but this meal was served with my home made bread.

The dinner was delicious.

Sometimes we have to make up for the sweet treats we sometimes enjoy, don't we!

Erik Update

Good morning,

Thank you to everyone who has asked about Erik's progress since his orthopedic surgery.

We are now in week three of his six week recovery. He is feeling MUCH better and wants to do more than he is supposed to do.  He wants to jump and play, but he must remain quiet for a full six weeks to allow his bone to regenerate in his knee.

Erik is in physical therapy now and is doing very, very well.  He especially enjoys the under water treadmill.

Garden Update

Good morning,

I took today's images over a period of a few days.

We were glad to see the buds on the Peonies about a week ago.

A few days later the blossoms opened, but, sadly, heavy rains followed...

...and the flowers were beaten down by the rain. 

We have more buds ready to open, so perhaps those will blossom without any heavy rains at the same time.

These pretty little daisy weeds pop up just about everywhere.  I don't fight them.  They are very pretty weeds and pretty weeds are welcome. ;)

We still have iris blooming this week.  We have a number of different varieties so they bloom at slightly different times keeping color in the garden.

And, finally, here are those marigolds on the front porch.  They are certainly doing their job providing color near our front door.  Beautiful!

Moss and Shadows

Good morning,

I found the moss on the bark of this tree to be so very fascinating. The colors are also so very pretty. 

It would be fun to figure out a knitting pattern to look like this to reflect the colors and texture.
